It was among the fastest, most efficient production cars ever built. It ran on electricity, produced no emissions and catapulted American technology to the forefront of the automotive industry. The lucky few who drove it never wanted to give it up. So why did General Motors crush its fleet of EV1 electric vehicles in the Arizona desert?

Is there possibly any alternative to the electric cars to solve our problem of pollution?

Hey, recently I found out my boyfriend may have cheated on me. He says he didn't and it's really messing with my head because I dont' know if he did it or not. Things don't seem to add up anywhere and now I feel like he doesn't love me the same. I'm extremely paranoid and I can't stop crying. I've had bottled up emotions though since my last relationship was a very bad one. My boyfriend cheated on me a lot so I am extremely sensitive to this kind of pain. I keep wanting to call my boyfriend now, and I keep texing him and trying to be with him all the time now cause I feel like the only time I have any sort of sanity is when I'm with him. I never used to be like this and the reason I loved him so much was because I never thought I could be in this situation with him because I was in it so often in may last relationship. how do I get my sanity back!? please help! I don't know how to snap out of this crazy black hole that I am in.

He misses big free throws in the clutch, disappears in the forth quarter, and looks like a brontosaurus! Why doesn't he get the same criticism as Kobe Bryant or Dirk Nowitski? We're talking about a First Team All NBA Player! Don't get me wrong, he's a good player, but he should be held to the same standards as other all-star players.

Why must so many fundamentalist zealots spew their ignorance all over? I normally restrict my activities here to the Earth Sciences & Geology section, and so many times someone will answer a valid question about science with a totally asinine and intentionally misleading answer designed to recruit new people into their religion by making the asker of the question more ignorant of the subject, or more likely attempt to fill their minds with blatant falsehoods designed to make the religious myths more palatable.

Why don't you all come get your boys, and keep them and others like them in the "spiritually enlightened" sections where they belong?

I first want to make it clear that I believe in a woman's right to choose what she will do with her own body. That they are entitled to decide if they are pro-choice or pro-life. I don't know where I stand. I would like to know, how many people believe abortion is murder and what is your religions background. There is so much controversy over this topic and I would appreciate some input from many different points of view.

When molecules are reduced they generally gain energy. If reduction involves the addition of electrons, then the electrons add their energy to the molecule. However, a molecule is also reduced simply by adding hydrogens and removing oxygens. This does not add the energy of new electrons since the number of electrons does not change (assuming that the number of bonds doesn't change). Why then should the energy necessarily be higher simply because hydrogens have been substituted for oxygens? Example: Methane (CH4) has more energy than Carbon dioxide (CO2). Same number of bonds in each, carbons being double-bonded to each oxygen in CO2.
