A parent, automatically has a legal right to see their own child, whether they pay child support or not. The only way they would not have a legal right to see their child, is if they had that right revoked by a court. If a parent has had their visitation rights revoked, they could still be ordered to pay child support. If a parent has been ordered, by a court, to pay child support and they do not, they can be arrested for contempt of court. However, that does not terminate their right to see their child. So even if they do not pay and the other parent keeps the child from them, that parent can be arrested.
Doesn't make sense. But, legally parental rights and child support have no barring on each other.

Your Mother is right; unless you prove the father is a grave psychological or physical threat and the Court order's Supervised Visits only, the parent that is paying Child Support has a legal right to the to see the child/children.

Actually, if their name is on the birth certificate then they are allowed to see their kids by law. You and the other party must seek court intervention to work out a visitation schedule. As far as child support, it is a responsibility, and sometimes a court order, to pay. But is NOT required for visitation.Only a court order can stop visitation, ( restraining order, protection order, etc.) otherwise as long as he is civil, he should be allowed to see his kids.

Child support and visitation are separate orders. You can be prevented from seeing children but required to pay child support. It is also illegal to reefuse court ordered visits, just because child support is behind.

I don't think that a person who pays child support is entitled to see their kids. They could be drug user. Or and abuser.

The court makes those decisions. Child support is one decision, visitation is a separate decision.

I personally think they should not have the right to see their children, considering the conviction of the crime. Who's to say the person wont turn on their own children.

Don't "use" your children to get back at a hateful ex-husband.
It will come back on you later, and you won't like the results.
I know, I was one of those children. I was not only stabbed, but
they "broke" off the blade, so I couldn't take it out. and It still
shows today. i was very small, but i remember well.
DO WHAT IS BEST FOR THE CHILDREN
