I am a Highschool student and for a research project I needed to calculate all the costs of buying a house. Could someone tell me, based on a $699,000 house, what the monthly payments would be for mortage, monthly taxes, monthly insurance, total utilities/phone, and housing for afore said budget. Answer as much as you possibly can; I'm absolutely lost on the afore mentioned subject. The rate for the mortage is 6.00%, and the insurance would be about $160, so don't worry about that. Someone you know very well is killed. Their body is immediately cryogenically frozen. 75 years from now, this person's brain is revived, and attached to a sophisticated computer interface that allows it to have sensory input and output... speech, sight, hearing, smell, etc.

You are shocked to discover that this IS your friend. The brain knows you, it recognizes you, it has all your friends memories down to the smallest detail, and it understands exactly what has happened to it. It speaks to you, and you to it. There is no denying that this IS your friend, brought back to life - albeit with the aid of technology.

Your friend then tells you that during the 75 years that passed, there was nothing. No light, no tunnel, no booming voice. No cognition, no sense of the passage of time, no experiences whatsoever. Just a split second between the end of life, and the start of life.

Think about it, because it's not that far out of the realm of possibility. Maybe not now, but someday.

God's the unknown here, but folks, you make it quite clear with your comments that some of you clearly just mouth your religion and never choose to actually live by the precepts of your religion, let alone know what those precepts are.

You call Atheists and pagans and Agnostics stubborn, losers, even condemn us to hell. Namecalling, petty back biting, not knowing your scripture and yelling at those of us who do - are these the actions Jesus wanted you to take? Are you even aware of what actions Jesus wanted man to take?

Are you even aware that the bible has two parts that are inseparable, regardless of what some of you like to insist?

Questions that have been bugging me about here for a long time.

BTW? I do know some Christians who DO live by the precepts and guides Jesus set forth for man - and they are lovely decent people I'm proud to know. Some on here could learn from them.

A friend of mine, who always exagerates everything, said she had been to the doctor and she had 107 temp. I asked her what they did for it, and she said they gave her something to bring down the temp and some antibiotics. I don't believe her.

I'm still bummed out about what this nursing advisor told me - she said i was "too young". I think she saw my eagerness as a sign of this "overimposed unncessary energy of youth" - like i can't "comprehend and understand" nursing as well b/c i'm "too excited" compared to if I apply when I'm 25. I've always had a goal to be done and working when i'm 22 or 23. I'm 20 years old - 3 yr. student finishing my nursing pre-reqs. I volunteer at one of the units at the state hospital, I'm a nursing assistant and to them i'm still "too young". I don't know what else to do anymore. People have advised me that when i'm finished with classes, just to work as a medical assistant and maybe then i'll get recognition. I don't know what to do...many people i know in the beginning have started towards nursing but all just quit and moved on to other majors because no one wants to "wait" just to get into nursing...Others say to the LPN then RN but i heard it wastes time. I'm tired of waiting....

My friend of 15 years cheated on her husband and used me as the scapegoat saying i put the hickies on her neck. Her husband believed her. She cheated on him at least 5 times i know of and she promised it wouldn't happen again. She accused her dad of raping her cause her sister did it. Her sister did it only because she hated her step mom. she admitted that she wanted attention and it wasn't true. The sisters are bi polar. Their mom cheated on their dad in front of them while their dad was at work. She left when they were young. My friend was fine til she got pregnant her mom told her the meds would hurt the baby so she stopped taking them. She went to see her mom came home and was totally different she snapped at me which she has never done..accused me trying to break her marriage up she started using drugs and was super skinny, she told me her dad raped her while they were over there for christmas and that he always touches her or comes in while she is in the shower while over there

I bought gas today because I needed it not in protest for tomorrow. But I've been looking for this April 1997 protest and can't find it. If gas prices dropped over night then, then why was the protest just in April and not on a certain day like the 15 of May.

I volunteer with a guy who's in his late 30's and has HIV. He constantly scratches himself in front of me. He does it for five minutes five or six times in a 90 minute period. He's physically scratching himself,not adjusting himself. Why does he do it? Is it some tic or something? Is he aware of it? Can I ask him to stop? Am I wrong to be annoyed and feel disrespected by it? It makes my boyfriend uncomfortable when the guy does it.
