If a god/some gods do exist, but have *not* created the world, do they still have any moral right to mix within its affairs? Unless it is done in order to help *everybody*, which is something that no god would do (they either help only the Chosen Ones, or do that AND punish everybody else)

So, if they do mix, are they still worthy of worship?
And if they don't, are they still worthy of being taken into consideration?

My guess is that, once you go along with evolution, you have got to be an atheist, at least in its sense of "believer in no god".

[second posting, cause the first time it only got me two useless answers]

I'm American and my hasband is from Greece we decided to move back to USA .
My hasband has a good payed job and I have part time job, his salary is 1600$ and mine 400$ monthly, our rent here is 600$ monthly and our food expences are 450$.
The base sallary in Greece is for 10-12 hours work per day and without having the right to have any break at all is
600-700$ monthly.
Obvously we can not afford to buy a house witch will cost us 200.000 $ or a new car costing 15.000$ or having any children considering that the goverment does not help at all.
Our dream will be to buy an appartment , having 1 or2 children and managing all familly costs by a full time job for my hasband and a part time job for me.
How high sould be each of our salaries to live an ordinary life without having wories how to pay at the and of the month: electricity, heat, food?
By the way our last electricity bill was
( for four months 1450$ !!!!!!! )
and we rent an 900 square feet appartment.

The Sabres lost last night in the opening game of the Stanley Cup Conference Finals. A lot of people were picking the Sabres to win in seven games but if they continue to play like they did last night, they can forget about the Stanely Cup. Does anyone see the Sabres picking themselves up and coming out on top or is this the makings of a sweep for Ottawa? I'm rooting for the Sabres since I used to live in Buffalo and I hope to God that they don't break my heart like they did last year.

Before hubby and I were married he told me he was "Not deployable" for the USAF, now we have been married little under a year, and he's signing up for deployment (without telling me; I stumbled upon this information when he left it mistakenly on our desk top). To me this is about the equivilent of an affair...what should I do? I know he realllly wants to go, but he told me before we were married that it would never happen. I'm usually pretty easy about letting him do what he wants, but this is one area I'd really like to draw the line. I mostly worry for our baby, because I grew up without a dad who was active in my life. I know the effects it has on kids, my husband does not. What would you do?

I am told by Christian women if you dress sexy around Christian men, they cannot be expected to behave, you must be "modest" or they will think and do terrible things, and call you bad names. Why is this?

Madison as a President vetoed the Bonus Bill in 1817 declaring it unconstitutional.
I think he was absolutely right, Politicians do it for votes and for
financial contributions to run campaigns.
In short it is a promise to return favors for political support.
It's called Patronage, and to me it is a form of bribery.
How did this practice become so widespread in a democracy.
In many countries this would mean ' end of political career ' if
not a jail sentence .
Yet for almost 200 years it is a readily accepted old and venerable political tool in the USA.
Everybody seems to be doing it, have the voters never protested, or do they just accept it as inevitable ?.

Like (so often mentioned) every Christian who did something bad, ever?

Inspired by the ever-insipid Galationwarrior:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuLs4baFy0z.bJXZ7nOSrg_sy6IX?qid=20070511072605AAZHQSr
and his quote: "Atheists who are former Christians are those who never really became a Christian, there are a few of them in churches today."

Isn't that really convenient and also very insulting?

Did evil = not a real Christian
Left the faith = not a real Christian
