Here's the deal. My friends and I are planning on going to Secaucus, New Jersey from June 8-10 for a Halo 2 Tournament. The only problems are that none of us are 18 yet. I wanted to find out if you have to be 18 or 21 to get a room, and if so, is it possible to make arrangements with a hotel beforehand and get permission from a parent?

You are playing a new dice game. You roll two regular dice and then subtract the smaller number from the larger number. (If the dice show the same number, then it doesn't make any difference which way you subtract.) What is the difference most likely to occur?

Please explain each step!

Thanks!

Why do people think that Criminals that already don't follow the law will follow new gun laws? Do people really think that making it harder for law abiding citizens to get gun, it will some how make crime drop? Has any one looked at the crime rate in DC? It skyrocketed after they baned guns.

ok, so every1 knows that if a word begins with a consonant, u use the "a" (ex. "a door") and if a vowel, u use "an" (ex. "an apple") but i noticed (when i wrote a short story) these phrases:

1. he gave me "A Once-over" (it's a vowel and they use "a")
2. "An Honest opinion" (it's a consonant and they use "an" before it; while in other adjectives, like "a sarcastic opinion" u use "a" again)

how come? some1 explain?

Ok well I'm an atheist and I understand why people pray. But I don't understand why people post questions asking strangers to pray for them.

Can God not hear one person pray? Or does God only take multiple prayers seriously? Does the person praying, feel better if strangers feel sorry for him/her? Does praying for strangers make you feel better about yourself? Does praying for strangers give you bonus points for being selfless?

Hahaha.....ok now those are some ridiculous assumptions.

Somone tell me an honest answer so I can understand because I'm really curious. I'm not trying to be mean, although quite honestly I'm irked by this.

For any of you non-believers and/or hard core Y!A regulars, is there a regulation against this?

I get frequent promotions from a couple of cruise lines via email for last minute deals. Usually, the cruise takes off in 2 or 3 weeks from the time the email is sent. I've done this before and saved about 70%. The thing is, ship availability is usually for a cabin sleeping two, and we have a child.

We don't have a need for a nanny in our normal day to day lives. But, do you think a nanny would consider taking on a one week job and going on a cruise with us in a different cabin for two? The nanny could even have time off during onboard kids club hours.

Good idea? Bad idea? Your thoughts please.

Would you pray that soon the belief and defence of ficticious deities will be replaced by enlightement, and that all people may have free and unrestricted access to the many millions of hours of research, experiments, testing and conclusions based on modern mainstream scientific methods, and that this will be a true, unambigious, uniting and common train of thought for all mankind, and that peace and common sense might reign as a natural consequence..?

Thanks.

For about 5 days now every time I turn my computer on it will restart after about 1-2 minutes. I rearranged my bios settings about 100 different configurations to get it to just run. I had it set up where it was working fine except it was really slow. I mean slow, I couldn't do any thing. I think this computer has a mind of it's own, this afternoon I thought I would try again. I turned it on and the Windows XP loading page came up and then it restarted. I went to bios and changed some stuff up and it restarted again at the loading page. so i changed some more stuff now it's working just fine. For how long I don't know. So if anybody can help please respond.

In my area there is a Catholic radio station. I have been listening to it to try and learn more about Catholicism, and I enjoy some of the music too. But everyday around 7pm they recite prayers for half an hour, and for the most part it sounds like the same exact thing recited 200 times or so (Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee...., For the sake of his sorrowful passion have mercy on us and on the whole world..., etc.). And they do this EVERY day! Doesn't it get monotonous after a while? Does God require you to say the same thing over and over again before he'll listen to you? Mainly I'd like to know: 1) why these prayers are recited, 2) why the repetition, and 3) why it's aired on the radio every evening?

I would prefer it if only practicing Catholics answered. Thanks.
