I have heard all three in context with loving something or someone. I.E. I have heard "Me encanta cebollas" (I love onions) "No me ames" (Don't love me) and "Te Quiero" (I love you) This especially confuses me as I thought Querer meant "To Want".

What is the difference? Which one do you use in which context?

My friends father is dying from Cancer. We are going to visit him. What kind of present do we bring? It’s a custom to bring something when we or they visit. A bottle of wine/candy/flowers don’t seem to be appropriate. Any ideas?

I have a horrible time trying to do something and stick with it. Like exercising for instance, I start and do it for a while, but when I see no results, I get frustrated, eat more, and stop exercising. Even when I've done so for months and months, with no result, I just give up. It's like I find it easier to quit, thinking things won't change, than to fight and wait patiently for something more positive to happen.
I just have a hard time trying to tell myself NO or do something that I know is for the best. I am stuck in a comfort zone and I want out! What are some ways I can kick my own butt into gear and take charge of life???

One day I flushed my toilet - there was nothing in it but water - and it overflowed. Ever since then, whenever I flush it, it goes to overflow, and if I let it sit, the water level goes way down. It's not clogged, so I don't know what it's overflowing. Do I need to replace the whatchamacall it (rubber thing on the bottom) or what? It's making me angry.

i say no because the hall of fame is the best of the best. not the best at hitting. if they are not good enough to play defense they just be a pinch hitter. Fat D.Hs is what make baseball records fall to people well past their prime. hall of fame an mvp's should be to people that help their team in every way and are good at every way. think about it would you compare David Ortiz to Willie mays, Joe DiMaggio, or even Tony Gwyn at least he played defense when he got fat.

What's the best way for parents to save for college for year-old twins? Parents' income is high $40's. Don't want to end up having available financial aid cut because they've saved. How does the formula work? I know it's a long way off and rules can and probably will change - but how does it work now?

Any comments on such savings vehicles as 529 plans or UGMA accounts?

Other question - if grandparents want to put money away for the kids' college, what's the best way to do that so it doesn't just end up causing any financial aid to be cut? Families aren't rich, but aren't low income either. With two in school at the same time, finances will be..... interesting.

I realize that this scenario is highly unlikely, but it popped into my head today and I just wondered if anyone knew...

What would happen if, in the middle of a tournament match, one of the players miscued badly enough to damage the felt?

Would the game have to continue on the compromised table? Would that player automatically lose? Would the match have to be replayed from the start?
