Care to explain how...
- Israel is expanding into anything that gets the label "expanionalism"?
- Israel is being an agressor?
Also, care to explain WHY the US needs to "win the hearts and minds of Arab countries"?
Maybe the onus should be on them to win the hearts and minds of the US?
Maybe the onus should be on them to win the hearts and minds of Israel?
I find it funny for you to talk about diplomacy when the default Arab position has been to never recognize Israel and to be in an official state of war with the country. The Arab states wouldn't know diplomacy if it bit them in the a__. They have been extended the opportunity again and again both by Israel and by the US.

Know one in the Mideast loves anybody. It is survival of the fittest. The Arabs go with the winner and that changes like the wind. Their is honor among Arab countries unlike between the West because of our secular orientation and their religious secular regional politic. ie. Shia, Kurdish, Sunni clans To cut off Israel is to lose a reliable contact in the region that gives us strategic leverage to project our political interests. Now I do not believe that this is a just position, nor is it fair balance, but it is what it is. The other thing to be mindful is that Israel have types of relationships that we do not have. They recently cut a deal with Turkey to aide Israel's sustainability with their water supply. Jordan while geographically small is quite capable as an honest broker and has managed through political skill ,diplomacy over war. These are Israels neighbors and quasi allies, too. And so, on this date, with this Administration and the current state of War in the region, it would not be wise to cut ties with Israel.

Dude, Israel is one of our closest allies in the world. The thought of cutting Israel off is unthinkable. Anti-Semitism has been one of histories biggest problems. Israel needs our full support if it is to survive in such a hostile region. Diplomacy only works between nations who either 1) Have similar cultures, 2) where one nation is much stronger than the other and can coerce the smaller into any deal, or 3) One country agrees to anothers terms only temporarily, then breaks the treaty. You should really study World War 2.

I, for one find a bit of fault in your reasoning. What makes you think for one moment that by cutting off the Israeli funding the Arab countries would just love us? There is a fundamental reason that the Arab world hates us & it has nothing to do with Israel, it has to do with religion. If you don't know what I mean by that, then you need to read a little bit about the difference between us. Diplomacy won't do it.

look you are nuts the Israeli's are the not expansionists those scum bag Palestinians started a fight years ago along with the murderous Syrian government they lost the war and lost their land. ( Golan heights )
deal with it, if those people wouldn't blow kids up on buses and at stores etc.. people would maybe listen but they don't know how to act so you reap what you sew. I REMEMBER those who cheered on 9-11 it wasn't the Israeli's it was the the ... you guessed it extremist Islam. I have Muslim friends so don't try and say I'm using religion as a reason.

Well first of all, Israel is the only long term functioning democracy in the middle east with nuclear weapons. They may be small, but they are CRUCIAL allies in virtually every strategic aspect. It would be extremely foolish, dishonorable, and inhumane to throw any of our allies to the wolves just because liberals have an aching desire to appease state sponsors of terror in the hopes that they will like us. I could think of nothing more cowardly and could just imagine the bloodbath that would ensue with Islamicists putting entire Israeli towns to death.
I dont know what world youre living in, but Israel is NOT the problem in that region. They are NOT the ones committing genocides on their people, denying justice and basic freedoms, stripping women and non-Muslims of their rights, allowing terror organizations to have a hand in govt and giving them free roam, directly funding and arming terror groups, teaching in their schools that America is the great satan and that their rival religion are animals, funding and supporting radical Imams that advocate violence against not only non-Muslims, but even Muslims that dont share some of their beliefs.
I think its important to remember that we give aid to a lot of countries as long as they dont support terrorism. We were even giving aid to palestine until they elected Hamas into power. But how foolish and gutless is America going to look and be if we cant even stand behind our own allies and the only democracy in the region?

A better question is what can be done about terrorists who have a stated goal of destroying Israel and killing all Jews and Christians. How can we help our good friend and ally Israel keep her statehood and her safety? Also, why do liberals side with terrorists on all issues? And why do liberals have an agenda that will destroy America if it is carried out?

There is no Israeli expansionism or aggression. They have withdrawn from territory & been "rewarded" with more terror. We will not win favor with the Arabs because we are still infu=idels in their eyes & remain the biggest obsticle to their goal of world domination.
