Can a kite nylon string cause a chopper to crash? A chopper just crashed and investigators said it was caused by a kite string which got ravelled up on the rotor when the chopper snagged it in mid-air. I have doubts.

Until very recently, I'd considered myself to be gay, and only dated women. While I didn't really tell anyone I was gay unless they asked me directly, things got to a point where I'm pretty sure nearly everyone I know was aware of my sexual orientation, just from gossip.
Lately, though, I've started to have feelings for guys, too. I have a thing for one guy in particular, mostly a casual acquaintance. Though I've never said anything that would lead him to believe I'm a lesbian, I suspect other people have. How can I ask him out without him taking it as a joke? How can I find out whether he does think I'm gay or, if he does, tell him that I also like guys, without being too forward?

Getting a perspective from someone else's point of view. Why do they expect anyone who smokes cigarettes or marijuana to be stupid? Especially with marijuana, I hate it when people tell you it is a terrible thing when they haven't tried it.
I don't understand, I get that it's illegal and everyone bases their opinion on "oh it's illegal, it must be horrible."
Please, tell me your perspective WITHOUT a simple "it's stupid, don't do that ****, you're retarded."

Mormonism today is a beign (non-violent) religious movement but it wasnt always this way and its history holds some interesting lessons when applied against Islam.
Joseph Smith, like Muhammad, claimed to have a divine visit, one that demanded a new religion and gave a new holy book. The selling point was that this religion was meant for America, and American born religion.
Intial growth in MS eventually brought backlash and the Mormons moved to IL. In IL Mormons were recieved with sympathy based on their problems in MS. Overtime however, Mormons took over and Joseph Smith became Major of the city of Navoo (IL), eventually declaring his candidacy for President of the US.
Mormon cultural dominance created tension which reached critical mass when Mormons destroyed a local newspaper critical of Smith. Americans back then saw supression speech in favor of theocratic rule as the ultimate affront and the ensuing mob killed Smith.

I bought a 110V to 220-240V transformer to try and run a UK (230V) juicer. The existing output won't turn the motor so how do I get the output that appears to be 220V up to 240V?
My physics reminds me that I need to lower the resistance somehow but without getting a new motor how can I do that?
An y help would be most appreciated.

It is so nasty but funny at the same time
Little Melvin was 7 years old and like
other boys his age rather
curious.
He had been hearing quite a bit
about 'making out'
from the older boys, and he wondered
what it was
and how it was done.
One day he took his question to his
mother, who
became rather flustered. Instead of
explaining
things to Ramy, she told him to hide
behind the
curtains one night and watch his older
sister and
her boyfriend.
This he did. The following morning,
Melvin described EVERYTHING to his mother.
"Sis and her boyfriend sat and talked for
a while,
then he turned off most of the lights.
Then he
started kissing and hugging her. I
figured 'Sis must
be getting sick, because her face started
looking
funny.
He must have thought so too, because he
put his
hand inside her blouse to feel her heart,
just the
way the doctor would. Except he's not as
smart as
the doctor because he seemed to have
trouble
finding her heart. I guess he was getting
sick too,
because pretty soon both of them started
panting
and getting all out of breath.
His other hand must have been cold
because he
put it under her skirt.
About this time 'Sis got worse and began
to moan
and sigh and squirm around and slide
down
toward
the end of the couch. This was when her
fever
started. I knew it was a fever, because Sis
told him
she felt really hot.
Finally, I found out what was making
them so
sick......-a big eel ;had gotten inside his
pants
somehow. It just jumped out of his pants
and
stood there, about 10 inches long,
honest, anyway
he grabbed it in one hand to keep it from
getting
away.
When Sis saw it, she got really scared-her
eyes
got big, and her mouth fell open, and
she started
calling out to God and stuff like that. She
said it
was the biggest one she's ever seen; I
should tell
her about the ones down at the lake by
our house!
Anyway, Sis got brave and tried to kill the
eel by
biting its head off. All of a sudden she
grabbed it
with both hands and held it tight while he
took a
muzzle out of his pocket and slipped it
over the
eel's head to keep it from biting again.
Sis lay back and spread her legs so she
could get
a scissor-lock on it and he helped by lying
on top
of the eel. The eel put up a hell of a
fight.
Sis started groaning and squealing and
her
boyfriend almost upset the couch. I guess
they
wanted to kill the eel by squashing it
between
them.
After a while they both quit moving and
gave a
great sigh. Her boyfriend got up, and sure
enough,
they killed the eel. I knew because it just
hung
there, limp, and some of its insides were
hanging
out.
Sis and her boyfriend were a little tired
from the
battle, but they went back to courting
anyway. He
started hugging and kissing her again. By
golly,
the eel wasn't dead! It jumped straight up
and
started to fight again.
I guess eels are like cats- they have nine
lives or
something. This time, Sis jumped up and
tried to
kill it by sitting on it. After about a 35
minute
struggle, they finally killed the eel. I knew
it was
dead, because I saw Sis's boyfriend peel
its skin
off and flush it down the toilet.

I'm taking my car (99 Saturn) in tomorrow to fix something electrical - my dad says the problem might be more than the alternator. What should I tell the mechanic to look for? I'd like to drive away from the mechanic without having my car die again...read below
On April 20th, my car died. I noticed problems like the gauges flickering, the radio dying and the rate of accelaration slowly decreasing whenever I hit the pedal a good 10 minutes before it actually died. I had it towed, and the mechanics put in a rebuilt alternator.
On Friday the 27th, my car wouldn't even start - my dad had to hook up his truck battery to mine to get my car to start. When I turned the key, nothing happened.
Today (the 1st), I was driving up a steep hill with a million speed bumps, and all of a sudden my radio died, and the rest of the car followed suit. It died much faster the second time around.

For a while I've have weird glitches with my monitor going to Power Saving Mode.
And finally one day it would not switch back. Now. I know that if I remove my Graphics Card (ATI x850pro) from the AGP port and use the onboard video thru Mobo (intel 865GBF) it will work.
So it is obviously not a monitor/cable issue. It's either the AGP port or card.
I don't have access to other comps or cards.
and tries seeing if card was loose.
I never changed anything in bios. One day it just stopped.
What do i do?

My friend and I are researching possible ways to give this car some speed (not for street racing etc. It would all be legal).
It currently has a 2.8L v6 and everything is stock. If we were to switch out engines what would be the easiest, cheapest/ most efficient way to do so?

i wanted to get whips on my pickup. but then thought i may as well get a Radio to. my dad said i should get a handheld CB Radio. but i duno which would be better. my dad said i could then take it where ever, rather then just the car. but he also said that CB Radios are dieing. i've been seeing them more and more lately. well at least antenna's on pickups. i know that truckers use them. but what about the general public. are they still in such use as from the 70's and 80's? i thought it would be fun to have one in my truck. What do you guys think is better between handheld and a mobile vehile radio? and are CB Radios a dieing fad? are they not really used anymore?

This man used to construct little birdhouses out of pieces of wood so he has a little art talent in him.any type of suggestion would be great. okay so i met this girl 4 weeks back and everyday since we have been talking, texting, emailing for hours at a time ECT. i really like her and really want to meet her again. she is avoiding this because she says "she needs to know someone well before hanging out with them" well its been 4 weeks now and im going nuts because i think shes awesome but she absolutly will not meet up with me and i dont wanna seem desperate about it.
she gives the same excuse tho, i asked if theres something shes not telling me like "poss rape victim" she said no.

My teacher has hepatitis from being a heroin addict. He was like, "Yeah I quit...a little" I was like wtf? Instead of teaching us all he talks about it drugs, guns and getting chased by the police. He gives us all F's for fun. He kicked my desk over while I was sitting in it.
