I have a friend who is about to inherit $15,000 from the selling of some land (capital gain).

Last year (2006 Tax Year) they owed about $15,000 in taxes because of the first income from the land.

How would you suggest paying for taxes (since they don't receive the money till later this summer) and would you strongly encourage quarterly tax payments? Secondly, is their a chart on how much tax they would owe on the $15,000 capital gain? Thanks for any help you can provide.

i've got to get my puppy spayed in the next few months and i'm really scared as i don't want to leave her in the vets over night as she has alot of company at home and i don't want her to fell scared neither also my baby girl is such a wonderful lively charcacter she is a boxer with such a great look at life and is always bouncing about but i've heard that when you get them spayed the can lose all that and just never be the same what will ahppen to her and do you think this will change her?

I saw someone selling one sock (apparently to combine with another lonely sock), fake poop, a blank piece of paper, and a big collection of corks.

There was this news I read online about a woman who wanted to give up all of her possessions because she was going to become a Buddhist or practice Zen or something like that and show she wanted to give away everything she owned on eBay. You can look up her story. It's sad actually because the bidding didn't even get up to 2 thousand bucks and then eBay cancelled her listing because of some issue with her saying the money would go to charity. Then she relisted it and she got even less money from the bidding. Well, I guess trying to sell all your possessions on eBay in one listing isn't such a great idea.
