I hope that Cristiano will win it. He has worked very hard this year and is worthy of it. However, even if he doesn't (this year), he will still be the FIFA World Player of the Year in my heart!

I agree with the person above.. Kaka really does play a striker role, he attacks and doesn't do anything else. That isn't to say he isn't good at that, because he is but Cristiano has MORE goals and is a WINGER. I think Cristiano has the skills Kaka does not possess as well.. overall = CRonaldo

Check back after next week when ManU plays AC Milan again. Who wins, and who looks really terrific, Ronaldo or KaKa'? It's too close now. Personally, I think KaKa' looked better in their last match.

to some of these numb skulls: yes its 2008 world player of the year!!!! not 2007/08 torres is a great player but just because he scored the winning goal at euros doesnt make him the best player fabregas not being in the shortlist is an absolute ****ing joke, same with ibrahimovic messi should win it, ronaldo had a brilliant 2007 but spoilt with a disappointing euros and not as good start to this season, messi was not as good in 2007 year but 2nd half of last season and this season (whole of 2008) messi was the best player and its awarded to the "BEST" player, NOT the "most prolific" player, otherwise Henry would have won it countless times over ronaldinho and cannavaro. and if so then why is Luca Toni not in the award list

I think that Cristiano Ronaldo has done a bettee job because he is always being talked about in a good way and I have not heard much about Kaka'

coz he's the BEST! his pace, movement, shooting, vision, dedication, strength, technique--- all r awesome! he's so BRILLIANT & ATTRACTIVE. he's such a wonderful player!
i do admit, cristiano ronaldo too is a very skillful player who's having a fantastic season as well. but the prob is: cristiano always makes show off & cares 4 only himself more than his team! but kaka cares more about his team, he leads the team 2 victory., he's a true match winner. he doesnt care about fame/show off, all he does is that he tries his best & help him team 2 win & show all the real beauty of "football"!
kaka's a much more COMPLETE player than cr.
he serves his team more than cr. (coz man u can go without cr. but milan cant even move without kaka!)
bsides cr's a diver & cheater; while kaka's a very honest gentle player who plays fair 4 the sake of the game football!
kaka's more dependable & more consistant in his performance & always tries hard. but cr lacks this hard work & dedication.
bsides kaka's shooting & running is much better than cr.
cristiano's often very selfish, but kaka's not! he always tries his best 2 help his team in any way the team needs from him.
kaka's the only player who has got Brazilian style with European physique"

If there's any logic into it, it should be Kaka. He carried Milan on his own all season. Ronaldo cant beat him because he had strong support from other ManU players.

kaka is slow and he plays a striker roll. he only scored about 16 time this season and he is old 25... ronaldo on the oher hand play left an d right winger he has 22 goals and 19 assist come on aint no way he's ganna loose.

I would vote for Kaka. Ronaldo is more skilled, he knows more tricks but he dives and pretends that he is injured when he is not. Kaka has good shot power, accuracy, ball control and amazing speed. I don't think I've seen him dive before, so I say Kaka.
