That's the way it's supposed to work. It keeps the parts from drying out.

Hope that helps!

Hi Some water is suppose to be in the bottom of the unit,(in the sump) But if the water is puddling there is a problem. If its a new unit in a new house the drain hose was poss ably installed wrong. The hose needs to raise above the drain and then down to the drain. Or make sure you are using the plate warmer/dryer / Heater if your not once your machine stops all water left on dishes drips down and can cause a good amount of puddling. DO NOT REPLACE THE HOSE WITH AUTO HOSE I have had to charge to many customers to unkink these hoses. Keep the factory hose. Last but not least. It could be the back flow device in the drain hose is faulty. You can find this part at the base of the dishwasher where the hose connects to the machine. Its a rubber gasget looking part. Hope this helps.

This is a most frequently asked question/problem on this forum.

First, your hose or pump is not blocked, their is a large intake filter on there that prevents this.

What has happened is you washer pumps at exit for a prescribed time and if the "resistance" in the discharge is too high for that centifugal pump, it will leave water in the bottom.

The solution is to replace that hose with a 5/8 ID hose which is available at any auto parts store. Those work best as they can take the heat. Your old hose, which was probably too small a diameter to start out with, has deteroriated and its inside diameter has become somewhat smaller and caused an increased resistance..

It sounds to me as in the experience that your situation is definitely one of two issues. a million) in case you have an air hollow on your sink, it is the small cylinder you will discover on suitable of the sink via your faucet, than the inlet tube is clogged. Pull off the outer cover, and open the suitable, you will maximum probable come across a gaggle of gunk sitting on suitable of the small inlet tube. basically get rid of the gunk and placed it back mutually and it is going to drain. or 2) in case you have not have been given and air hollow, then your drain maximum probable attaches directly to the area port of the rubbish disposal. Disposals come from the production unit with that port plugged for those people who have not got a dishwasher. you would be able to desire to knock the plug out. Take a flat blade screwdriver and stick it into the port, then hit it with a small hammer. Then attain interior the disposal and get rid of the plug through fact in case you do not, it will make an undesirable racket once you turn it on. additionally, determine you hook up the drain in a severe loop configuration to keep away from any backwash from the disposal from going back to the dishwasher and contaminating it.

Perhaps the water at the final drain goes out a different pipe and it is clogged. Double check that the drain screen isn't clogged either. It almost has to be a clog but you must find out where.

Check to see if the machine is level. Or if the drain is set to high.

when the float gets stuck this will cause it to fill up with water. the float is that little thing in the bottom, it looks like the thing you hold to play air hockey. pull on it up and down to get it unstuck.
