Is it true that the only reason Copernicus is preferred to Ptolemy (i.e. the heliocentric theory over the geocentric) is that it makes the math a lot simpler? Is there any empirical proof that the earth goes around the sun, apart from Ockham's razor? (I.e. the simplest explanation, accounting for the relevant facts, is the preferred one.)

I am interested in adopting a baby but all the agencies I have looked into are a HUGE fortune. I have no idea on where to begin and I am having a hard time finding info on this topic. I know that the chances of them ever hooking
up are slim to none but the fact that it was even a thought gets to me.

She just married my husband's brother (brother in law) and I invited them to spend a month in my home.

Should I say something?? She thinks she is so pretty, truly she is her bests years and me....my worsts

I am smarter than her, well educated, but she is obviously beautiful and sexy.

What is sids? and how exactly do you know if your child will or is going to be born with it? or is it just something that happends? is it genetic? or what i know nothing about this and someone told me about it, the only thing they told me is that it is caused by smoking. and if you haven't already guessed i'm a smoker! I know it's supposed to be can never hurt me. But what do you think the rest of it SHOULD be.

Don't words hurt you more. Sticks and stones aren't can't drive someone to suicide, or cutting, of drug/alcohol abuse...

But they can put you in a cast.

I have to hire someone to help me take care of my daughter AT the hospital while I'm in labor with my second child. I consider myself a humanitarian. I contribute to three charities every year. I feel empathy for the homeless and can see that the problem is increasing nationwide (especially here in Hawaii).

Yet each day I ignore a homeless man who "lives" in a tiny park behind my condo building. When I take my daily walk I pass right by him. He is challenged because he usually talks to himself. Rain or shine that poor man is out there by himself. He must be terribly lonely.

My thing is I don't want to get involved. I am busy and I don't want any obligation. But when I walk past him each day I feel guilty and hypocritical. After all, "charity begins at home".

Any suggestions/comments?

im 8 weeks pregnant and have my first appointment in a little over a week. im terrified that they are going to tell me the baby is dead. i had a brownish discharge at around 5 weeks but i called the hospital and they said not to bother coming in that it was normal. im really scared when i go to my appointment somethings going to be wrong. how would i know if i had a miscarriage? is it normal to be this worried before the first appointment?

I have gone through tubal ligation and Endometrial and I know that the tubal can be reversed and I have heard that if you still bleed even after having Endometrial that you can still get pregnant after the process has been reversed, me and my husand decided we want more children and I really would like to know the facts and the success rates.
