I went to Florida for a week, and got tan for a day or two. I was sunburnt/tan, but I want to be really tan. I don't want to look orange and I don't want a spray on!

u can try to get darker by tanning outside...or in the tanning bed...i prefer the tanning bed because it`s very relaxing, & a heckuva lot quicker than spending all day outside!!!

Here's a ciuple of choices:
1. Go to a tanning place
2. Use sunblock (SPF around or lower than 20) and sit in the sun on a nice, warm, sunny day for a couple hours (2 or 3)
3. There are some lotions from Olay and Jergens that gradually build a tan.

Jergens makes a good tanning cream, it slowly builds up the tan. DON'T go to a tanning salon or lay out in the sun for too long without suntain lotion. You don't want to get skin cancer! Supposedly spray on tan, if done correctly, works very well.

They do airbrush tans in some salons. I'm told it looks as good as any natural tan, you don't suffer the effects of UV rays. Unfortunately, it doesn't last as long.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is this safe for my skin?

A. DHA (dihydroxyacetone), has been approved by the FDA for cosmetic applications. It has been used for over 30 years without any harmful effects.

Q. How long does Sunless Tan last?

A. The length of tan is determined by the skin type. Dry skin and rubbing on the skin will shorten the life of the tan. MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE! As you lose the skin layer you will lose your tan. This comes from showers and tight clothing. The more abrasive you are to your skin, the sooner you will lose your tan.

Note: Sunless Tan contains DHA (dihydroxyacetone), if you are pregnant, consult your physician prior to tanning with Sunless Tan.

There is really no safe way of tanning, I would just recommend to get some sunlight for some Vitamin D for your bones. You could get age spots and wrinkles too.

You need to be in the sun for long periods, a week will not do it. Dont bake just go outside, dont use any sunblock or any lotions, thats what that guy said that wrote the book "natural cures" is it true I dont know but sounds right to me !

try putting on baby oil and going out in the sun. you have a better chance with a tanning bed though because they have controlled heat.

fake it, don't bake it. tanning from direct sun will increase your risk of skin cancer and premature wrinkles - so using sunscreen is VERY important! wear it every time you go out!
in general, tans are nice, i agree. i use jergens natural glow daily moisterizer. it doesn't go on sticky and it doesn't make your skin orange. trust me!
you should defenitly give it a try.
