To get the lowest price on everything you need in one single stop you would probably need to go to somewhere like Walmart, Petco or Petsmart. You would come out much better both for price and quality of fish to buy your tank and equipment used like at a garage sale or ad in the paper, then buy your fish from a good quality independent pet store.

WalMart, PetsMart or Petco are good for finding equipment and supplies. I would then go to a privately owned pet store to find the fish you want once your tank has been set up and running for a few days. Be sure to take time tto learn about something called "New Tank Syndrome".

Unless you get a heater you will have to have coldwater fish. They do need quite big tanks though. You could get away with a fantail or blackmoor in 30gallons. Anything smaller than that and you would be stunting their growth.

walmart sells the cheapest tanks and equipment for the initial tank set up. I would strongly recommend going to a dependable pet store to purchase your fish though. I have never had any luck with fish from commercial chains and they will sell you just about anything to make a buck.

I have found that Petsmart and Petco are great places for buying pets and their accessories. They staff seem very helpful and ready to jump in and show you everything you need and what you don't really need. I would go to Petsmart first and the Petco. Have fun with your new fish!

If there is a Petsmart around you there should be Betta Kits that come with food,bowl,water conditionar,net, and fake plant. and also have Goldfish Kits. Click on the link below/
