For as long as I can remember, my father has served in positions of heavy responsibility in the LDS church. I believe part of the reason he was called to these positions is that he was successful in his career, and higher-ups recognized that his leadership-skills could be well-applied within the church.

The net effect of this was that my mother raised umpteen children pretty much by herself in a constantly stressed and irritable state. I also never really got to know who my father until I grew up to be an adult.

Now that I'm a parent I look back on this situation and feel like it just wasn't right. My siblings used drugs, broke the law of chastity, and some temporarily drifted away from the church (and I had a minor scrape with law enforcement) all while my father was serving in time-consuming callings.

I cringe now when I remember how my mother used to stand up in testimony meetings to say how much the family was blessed as a result of my Father's faithful service.

Can we say that the English team with most UEFA honors to date is the most successful team in England?

How do we measure the success of any team? When do we say the team is successful, and is the best team in the world?

I'd hate to miss the last in the series.

Thanks.

Mine did, and at a very early age. I was told that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and their own set of beliefs and they are free to make their own decisions. Because of this, I cannot and will not insult other people or their religion, their lifestyle or their decisions, regardless of how much I disagree with them.

I learned 2 things that I was previously clueless and unaware about .

1. I learned that amongst one of the worst tragedies in recent history. . . . that there are actually people walking among us that are so hellbent and heartless , that they'd politicize this unheard of tragedy. .. . . WITHIN HOURS !!

2. And this one surprises me more than anything I can remember . I learned that there are actually people walking amongst us that think it's 'ok' or 'excusable' to not know the age of your daughter(11 or 12 , which one is it Alec? ) and to call an 11 or 12 year old a 'rotten little pig' in a voice message that when I originally heard it , I thought he was ranting at an ADULT MALE !!

I honestly don't comprehend either one . I honestly don't !!

So what did you learn this week ?

We haven't owned a dog for awhile and just adopted a sweet stray. What are the best websites and books for training and general care? I'd also be interested in resources for making our own dog food.

Thanks, y'all.

I don't think he has even that much support from conservative Republicans either. Gonzales has 3 problems, lying, incompetance and bad blood with Republican legislators.
Bush is truely going to hate being forced to fire him. Maybe the biggest problem is incompetance. - but we are going into an election cycle and he is just one more liability for Republicans. I wonder if this will play out the same way Rumsfeld's firing did.

The teacher of the law asked about what was the greatest commandment. Jesus answered, "What is written in the Law?" After they agreed to that answer, the lawyer asked, "Who is my neighbor?"

In response to the question, Jesus gives the Parable of the Good Samaritan

In the context of the parable,

1. Who can be a neighbor as Jesus defines being a neighbor? It would be neighborly to do part of it and not all ...according to Jesus.
2. Who else can fulfill the law besides Jesus? If your answer is "no one", then who else can be neighborly as the law describes?
3. What is the point of the parable if Jesus is the only one who can be a neighbor to 6 billion people?
