It is already the law.
Mentally ill people cannot legaly buy any weapons.
The VT shooter should not have legally been allowed to purchase the weapons.
But some states are dragging their feet in reporting information to the federal database.
If the Judges ruling that the VT shooter was a danger to himself had been reported like it was supposed to have been, he would have not passed the computerized background check and would not have been able to purchase the weapons.
The NRA has never defended the rights of mentally ill to buy or own weapons.

A judge did NOT declare the shooter mentally ill. Had he committed him, it would have shown up on his background check and he would have never been able to get the Glock.
As for the NRA, last time I checked, people were allowed to freely associate with whomever they wish. If you can't get rid of the American Nazi Party, you can't get rid of the NRA.

they arnt supposed to sell guns to mentally ill people, if their illness is not apparant or they admit it then there is no real way to tell if they are mentally ill and citizens have the right to bear arms so there isnt much that can be done.
and NRA doesnt defend the right of the mentally ill to buy weapons.

Hahaha.....what makes you think of weapons could disappear if promoting them/production them grew to develop into unlawful? Six months while they closed each and every of the gun shops, there could be greater "weapons" interior the palms human beings electorate then ever before.....and that they had be greater efficient than something you're able to be able to desire to purchase right now in a save. Hell, with purely some surgical tubing slightly timber and a few ball bearings, you're able to make what's basically a .40 5 pistol in decrease than 15 minutes. you won't think of so, however the final time I goofed around with this, i develop into waiting to pierce an a million/8 inch metallic drum with this. that could desire to kill a individual only as uncomplicated as my Colt Commander could.

even if someone is mentally ill, he/she might not be diagnosed with a mental illness. how would the gun shop owner know?
how to differentiate between the mentally ill and the sane?
going for a psychiatric evaluation when you plan to buy a weapon?
producing a medical certificate proving that you are sane when you go to buy a weapon?
interesting but ambiguous question. it raises even more questions.

That's already the law.
What was that? Get rid of the NRA or the First Amendment?
Why can't liberals debate an issue without resorting to censorship?

If we do, does that mean that Jim Webb will have to surrender his pistols?
Please don't forget that it's the ACLU who prevents institutions and the government form warning people that someone is mentally ill so we need to get rid of them as well.

i believe there is a law against it, but the only way the seller knows you have a disability is if you admit to it. Anyone wanting a gun wont (obviously) so probably the law needs changing to be made much stricter.
