when you chat with someone do you trust him or not?

First and foremost I never chat with people I don't know. I believe it is a dangerous connection and one can get in deep waters. I only talk to two friends and family members abroad through Skype, but a chat service never.

With my patients I have a professional Skype paid phone line which is only used in emergencies otherwise the connections are via emails or online through my blogs.

I do not trust those who hide behind avatars and nicknames or supposed IDs. My ID is my middle name, so it is not a hoax.

No way! You can't trust anyone, I'm not saying it like paranoid but everyone will let you down at some point in life because no one is perfect and if you have'nt known them for more than 3 months you probably should'nt let your guard down just yet! I say 3 months because usually by then any underlying hidden agendas will be revealed.

No. You can't and you shouldn't. Always proceed with caution until you have had several face to face encounters with a person and you've been able to get a good "read" on who they really are.

Internet encounters = virtual, but not really real.
Face to face + consistency over time = really real

Not. Be objective and still consider the advice, but 100 different strangers will give you 100 different answers.
