I will be seeing this girl this weekend whom I recently began dating. This will only be our second time seeing each other, should I get her a gift, or will a thoughtful card suffice?

If I should get a gift what could it be? I don't know if this will go anywhere but at the same time I don't want to come of as a jerk.

Rutgers stood behind their ladies basketball team when Imus attacked them but Duke spit on those boys when they were wrongfully accused. Soooo, Now that the real truth is out about the false accusations the Duke players were subjected to, now will white guys FINALLY get civil rights for them? I mean as has been displayed in this Duke case white guys are the only group that don't have rights or "right groups" rushing and pandering to their sides.

No United States citizen can legally be required to PAY to vote...but what if registered voters were fined $50 for failing to cast any vote in primary or general elections?

After all, one can always go to the polls and push the "cast ballot" button on a completely blank ballot, to show that one doesn't like any of the choices offered. In every state, an absentee ballot is available for anyone who'll be unable to go to his/her designated polling place. Many states now have early voting. In short, we're running out of excuses not to vote.

After watching Iraqis stand in line for hours, uncertain whether they'd survive the process, but determined to exercise their brand-new right to vote, it was pretty embarassing to see our poor turnout at the next election we held here.

Perhaps being fined for failing to exercise this most precious of our rights and most solemn of our responsibilities as citizens would induce more of us to get to the polls and VOTE! What do you think?

I'm really shy,so shy that i never had a bf,and I'm 21 (that bad)
I never have problem finding guys who are interested in me,I'm actually so used to it,but I ignored all them,some tried so hard to get my attention till the last wk of school Its flattering,but futruating coz I liked some of those guys, but my shyness got in the way that nothinever happen Theres 1 guy now that giving me signs,I like this guy that i tried so hard not to repeat the same mistake.So I smiled at him for the 1st time ever 2 wks ago,he got so excited that we keep gazing n smiling at each other,Icouldn't believe I did it! But next day I ignored him got so nervous.I felt so bad n thought y not give him a note saying give me another chance(prob stupid thing to do)The next wk I tried so hard to look n smile at him, he did too.Yestr I ignored him. I try 2 steal few glances at him but saw that he was mad n was lookin at another girl! Should I just give up?

This guy I know was always saying hi, poking me, talking to me, would walk to class with me, asking me who i liked (well..he didn't do that ALL the time, but a couple..) and wouldn't admit who he liked to me. At the time I told him who I liked and for about a few minutes he put his head down, then seemed to snap out of it which I thought was odd. I know he never came right out and said he liked me, but with him doing all those things, was I wrong to assume he did?

Now a few months later he is denying he ever liked me, what gives?


we also have no classes this semester, and i have begun to have feelings for him (it's not the 'i want what i can't have' feelings either, i just didn't realize i had them until he wasn't around.) except he won't talk to me anymore. this hurts a lot! help!

If we are dividing religions further into sects / denominations, are we strengthening it or weakening it?

Take Christianity for example:
There are, within its branch => Roman Catholics, Protestants, Jehovah's Witness, Church of God, Evangelists, Born Agains, etc.

Take the Islam religion:
It has been divided into Sunnis, Shiites, etc.

And, not but not least, Judaism:
There are the Conservatives, and the Reforms...

I'm running for school elections for next year.Right now I'm not sure what position I'm going to be running for but student council elections are just around the corner at my school for the eighth graders going into ninth grade next year. My biggest problem is I need catchy slogans and ideas for a campain for it. So far I've gotten;
"School Lunch- $2.00
Juice- $1.00
An Extra Milk: $0.50
Voting for me for the 2007-2008 Student Council........
Priceless"
(I've also gotten this one set up so I can use it for school dances, new art supplies, and new sports equiptment)

the first couple of years i wanted to marry him, the next couple years i spent wondering why he didnt want to marry me. now that im newly engaged, ive gone crazy, im going out everyother night, staying out ALL night, never invite him, i just want to get away, anybody know what i mean? anybody know why? im meeting new people, and having too much fun. i feel a little bad, but a big part of me just doesnt even care.

well i just read a fact that was: from above rainbows appear doughnut shaped! that means there's no pot of gold-as there is no end of a rainbow......how sad.
