I will be seeing this girl this weekend whom I recently began dating. This will only be our second time seeing each other, should I get her a gift, or will a thoughtful card suffice?
If I should get a gift what could it be? I don't know if this will go anywhere but at the same time I don't want to come of as a jerk.

you can get flowers and a box of chocolates - you cant go wrong with that.

Take her out on a night date if shes available, but if shes busy with Friends or family or something, take her out to lunch or breakfast or something. Just make sure it's on her birthday. And if she's busy all day on her birthday maybe take her on a date to celebrate someday close to her birth day like the day before or after! Btu u should give her a present. And because it's only your second date, make it like chocolates and a card or flowers or a teddy bear. haha anything from hallmark will be good lol..Just don't get her lingerie or anything because that would kinda freak her out!

Hi! Piece of advice--- it´s nice to show that you are thoughtful and remember her birthday..we girls love that.. but don´t overdo it... Personally most of the times I found myself in front of a super expensive present two weeks after I started dating somebody and the only thought that came to my mind was: wow!isn´t it a bit too early?So no gold jewellery,pricey perfumes or stuff like that..low profile please. The idea of cards and flowers is ok but you can give the ocassion a personal touch taking her to a romantic place or maybe recording a Cd with her favourite songs, or music you consider suitablefor the ocassion .Whatever you give her remember this:show her that you care--- whether you share a BiG Mac or a bottle of champagne...make her feel like a queen....Good luck!!!!

Many guys are making the same mistake giving theirs girlfriends too expensive gifts.
Maybe you can give her something funny instead of flowers. Everyone else will give her flowers. Be extra-ordinary.
But don't spend more than $10.
If she won't appreciate your cheap gift, she might be a gold-digger.

Bake her some cookies. Its thoughtful and not hurtful to your wallet. And whether or not it goes anywhere, it just nice.
