I have a 401K plan through my current job (a crappy retail job; I have a soon-upcoming government job I've been hired for). It's not a lot of money in there...as they don't pay that great. "Total assets" of about $440 according to the site (Vanguard). It's a stupid "Office Depot Retirement Savings Plan 401K". I'm of course probably leaving this job soon...or will just keep it as a side job about 1-2 days a week for a little extra money. I know I can 'roll over' the 401K probably, to whatever 401k the gov job has. But I'd rather just take the money (if possible, by drawing it out somehow?) and pay something with it. I need to get a car soon. I'm still quite young...not going to 'retire' in life, anyway. I plan on working 'til the day I die. How can I draw this out in tangible form? It's a "Vanguard LifeStrategy Moderate Growth Fund". 40% bonds, 60% stocks. Will they try to make me 'pay it back' if I do? Isn't it *mine*? I've heard of this happening, though. Thanks.

I just needed a catchy titte...
But I was wondering....I have a good idea what all the Christians would talk about at a party (at some point or another)
Would you guys end up talking about what a pain in the butt religion causes you guys? Thats what I'm left thinking from reading all the posts....so I'm just wondering....does it really occupy that much of your mental time when you arent on here, or is it just a place you like to hang out when you are on here?
For the record, I'm agnostic - or confused at least....
So it really is just a curiosity question.

I am concidering buying an altima. I drove the 2005 nissan altima all around smoooth ride but i was curious if you are suppose to feel the shifting? I have had a transmission problem in my ponitiac and it shifted hard never felt it before needless to say had to replace it.. Now i hav had a honda and they shift differently then any car i have driven, spoke with honda and they confirmed they shift like that.. I havent yet spoke to nissan but am curious.. dont want to buy a car and have the trani go out.. it is still under its 36,000 mile warranty but who knws 36001 and sometihng happens...

I've been feeling that many women have no qualms these days about initiating something with a man who they know is already taken/married. Whereas the average regular guy is more likely to be decent and not fall all over a married woman.
Is there a role reversal happening, with women enjoying the hunt and men becoming the prize, rather than the other way around? Are women losing their conscience? I'd love to have some views on this.

being the oldest of 5 children (17 years old ), and the older brother of a child with ADD and another with downs syndrome, I often find myself at war with my parents. I feel as though I'm the family's scapegoat, and the one to take the blame for everything, also as of late, my rebellious sister has been causing trouble around the house, and again, I feel like I'm on the receiving end of this. Am I wrong to feel this way, and how can I solve this problem (I've tried telling my parents, but they always shrug me off as being manipulative and melodramatic)? And how can i get my dad to be a better father and spend more time with me?

i am a newlywed.. and i share a good rapport with my in-laws, especially my mum-in-law, and i hope to keep it this way.
