I just needed a catchy titte...
But I was wondering....I have a good idea what all the Christians would talk about at a party (at some point or another)
Would you guys end up talking about what a pain in the butt religion causes you guys? Thats what I'm left thinking from reading all the posts....so I'm just wondering....does it really occupy that much of your mental time when you arent on here, or is it just a place you like to hang out when you are on here?
For the record, I'm agnostic - or confused at least....
So it really is just a curiosity question.

No...we would talk about sex. That is usually what occupies our minds when we aren't thinking about what a pain religion is. Just humor me......

To be serious ...
As a strong atheist, I do not talk about religion at all at a gathering and, it follows, I do not talk about atheism at all - unless someone else brings it up. It really does not consume much of my time or my life.
I suppose that it only consumes SOME of my time when I scan through the 'questions' here and I respond with honesty. Religion is a fascinating subject and, being retired now, I can spend some of my waking hours being intelligent in the face of stupidity. It's quite a lot of fun.

Be not confused. Reality is within reach. Atheism is truly the only logical choice of the free-thinker.

For some people (those who are employed with a church, those who are philosophical scholars, those who are trying to figure out their place in this world, etc) religion probably does consume that much of their time.

I am also an athiest and I must say I do think about religion ALOT but mainly because I am an anthropologist focused on the origins of mankind. I also have an intense interest in the origins of religion. I guess it depends on the person and their place in life how often they think about religion.

In real-life this subject is seldom part of my interacting with people. But once I got here, I couldn't stop. It's too funny. Maybe it's because we don't have that much fundies in Europe. (The last fundie who dared to adress me was a mormon from utah, lol.)

I'd be more likely to end up kvetching about what a pain in the *** it is having frail elderly relatives - much more relevant to my life. Just one of the many reasons I don't go to parties...

Honestly, I don't think it would come up. We talk about religion here, because, well, it's R&S. But I don't think religious issues come up in my day-to-day life unless there's another raving unhinged preacher handing out tracts on campus.

Nah ..... most christians will try not to talk about religion in parties, unless one starts to belittle another denomination. :D.
