A close friend of mine was accused by a girl he broke up with of rape. I know he didn't as I was there that night and they just had sex. He is a great guy and is always there for other people. He now has a great girlfriend, his job, family and all of us there for him. He is being investigated in her allegation and there is a chance( a small one) that he could go to jail for something he didn't do. In this state it's life in prison. He has admitted he would rather die than lose his family, girlfriend, friends and career for something he didn't do. I want to say something about it, but I don't exactly disagree with his reasoning as I would probably feel the same way as well faced with that. Any thoughts?

Looking for wholesale suppliers and not willing to pay $5 per sq foot for the chains, etc. These are for decoration and hobby purposes, not a one time purchase. My computer is making random noises. I KNOW it's not a dying fan, because they're like, familiar sounds and it's always different. Sometimes it's the AIM received message sound, sometimes it's the beginning of a song (I don't have ANY music on my computer... it's a new hard drive), sometimes it's a Windows system sound. I don't have any themes on, and I don't have any processes running that shouldn't be. What is going on?

I know that prior to the early 1900's bars and restaurants in the City of NY were licensed by the City. However ,in the early 1900s these establishments were required to turn in their licenses and become licensed by the State of New York. There is a data base with this information in the municipal archives but no one I speak to in the municipal govenment can tell me where to find it. I am attempting to compile a list bars and restaurants that existed in the City of New York prior to 1899 and are still extant. Any suggestions ?
