There has been a lot of press recently about being asked to apologise for the slave trade. I feel that its ridiculous that compensation is sought by African nations. We (Britain) were the first major nation to put a stop to what was a hideous practice. The British navy broke the back of the slave trade by direct military intervention. What really galls is that the slave trade in Africa had existed for thousands of years before Europeans got involved and in fact, African chiefs were the ones responsible for rounding up their fellow Africans and selling them to the slavers.
Maybe I (as a white English man) should sue the Danish for the Viking raids - or take the Italians to the European court for the shocking behaivour of the Romans?

Im an educated white christian american.

Is it really Muslims who we are against? Or is it a particular, nation/s.

Doesnt it seem like Muslims are the victim? Just because they fight back doesnt mean they are wrong, every country and people have the right to fight back

Islamic countries arent all in on it.

If you are country of buhddists, and a country called untitled 100% catholics declare war on you or you declare war on them, does that mean you are at war with catholosism? obviously not.

people are to gullable to media brainwashing, not educated enough and so narrow minded. I mean its all too obvious, its all about money and power, not about religion. They just use us, use the masses of people to thier advantage. Religion helps they do this. Its just a weapon

years, he's 32 and I'm 25.I love him with all my heart and we've never fallen out or had problems. When I got married I left everything i was doing in London to live with him in a small village where he works as a fork lift driver. I had been traveling the world before hand and had planned to go back to university so the decision to settle wasn't an easy one. My husband was very keen for me to follow my dreams and said we could move to a city in a year or so once we'd got into the flow of married life BUT that all seems to be forgotten now, he's very resistant to change and I don't want to force my will upon him-but I need a life!
any ideas??? It's a secure relationship and perhaps moving away while I study is an option.
HELP ME!!!

It is said that if cooked food, drinking water, milk etc remains exposed to solar/lunar eclipse it should not be consumed. It can be consumed only if a tulsi leaf is kept in it. Does this tulsi leaf can reduce the harmful effect of the eclipse. It is also said that exposure to eclipse for pragnent ladies and their unborn baby is not good .
Is this just a myth or is there any scientific reason for it. Plz help

What were the differences between the tradition of Christianity that became the dominant form as represented by the creeds and decisions of the early councils in the 4th and 5th centuries and the many other forms of Christianity such as the Ebionites, Marcionites, Gnostics, Arianism, Manichaeism, and so forth that arose in the first few hundred years?

" i do not like making excuses for racists but a person has to be taught to hate. are your parents racists?" was said in response to "I hate black people"

I was raised in a climate of overwhelming and virulent racism. I began questioning this before grade school and had rejected it by age 10 as unjust, cruel, and unfounded.

Not all of us believe what we were taught to believe as children. I was taught nothing of music, yet love Baroque and classical music generally. I was raised southern Baptist, yet I'm an atheist. I was taught that gays were evil and freaks. I rejected that too.

If we all believed what we were taught as children, w/o question, like sheep....Isn't that a bit scary?

Conformity for its own sake is as absurd and stupid as rebellion for its own sake, imo.
