The word Islam itself is more of a verb than a noun. It is about achieving harmony through puting your faith in a greater power that interacts with everything. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) delivered instructions on how we can specifically go about doing this. These instructions all revolve around universal respect and keeping in mind that ones actions will reciprocate everywhere.

Tao cannot truely be defined so I will not try to make attempt at defining it. I will say however that Taoism revolves around the concept of a greater power that is connected to everything and that you must work with Tao to achieve harmony.

Question: Would people pelase explain their thoughts on similarities between Islam and Taoism?

-This not to say they are the same but that as different as they are I believe they are very different.

In a club, on the street, in a cafe. Guys only view other guys as sex objects. We are told to celebrate the gay culture during Mardi Gras and Pride Week, but what's to celebrate?

Gay *culture* is about body worship, immediate sexual gratification. What about friendship?

I am 1 semester away from graduating with my AA in Psychology. Unfortunatly, I have had a lot of extenuating circumstances happen in the last two weeks and I have missed a lot of school as a result. I am a 4.0 student and am relying on the High Honor Scholarships to gain my doctorate in Psychology at the University. However with everything that has gone on so far, I will be lucky if I pull a 1.8 this semester. My grandfather, a professor at the college I go to has fallen deathly ill and between me an my mother we are the only people around to take care of him. I found out I was pregnant with # 5 and me and two of my children have been in and out of the ER with Mono. My husband is on the verge of losing his job and I prolly will have to go back to work just to keep our house. My question is if I withdraw from my classes is it going to hurt my chances of getting financial aid when I come back next year to finish my degree? I can t finish school with out financial aid.

Heres the situation: About 4, maybe 5 yrs, could be longer. Anyway, I was involved in a long distance relationship that only lasted about 6 months. Well, during those 6 months, the girl that I was with actually did like me, alot. Only I didnt realize it at the time.

Long story short, things got rocky, mainly because of my little white lies and whatnot. Anyway, she ended up breaking up with me over the internet and I admit, it took me a while to get over her. But I finally did, somewhat!!!!!!!

Well, 5,6 yrs later I am still thinking about this girl and I am wondering if it would be a good idea to try finding her to atleast let her know that I am still on earth thinking about her.

We are like 13 hrs away from one another. I made efforts to go see her two, maybe three times. I was there for Christmas and everything.....Her family seemed to really like me, and I liked them too!!!! Even the mother thought we were going to be good together, UGH!!!!!!!

What do I do????!!?!?!?!?!

This misconception is unique to american christians, as far as I can tell. British christians, for example, will correctly identify their religion every time.
