it depends on how much disk space you have ..for 80 gb i recomment you put aside 20 gb for installing the OS just incase you will be having large applications and Games running on your pc you will need enough disk space
For less than 80 GB try to allocate 15% of the total disk space ...
For less than 20 allocate 8GB -6bG it will be ok for it
-Never congest the Main partition ..it will just slow down your pc
-Never allocate too much space for it also ..it will tempt you to store your data there and this will cause you alot of problems incase the Os has a problem and the only quickest solution is to format the Partition ....
good luck

How large is your hard disk? If it is 80Gb I would recommend to make the C partition around 20Gb. Then you can choose to make other partitions. The more partitions you have, the more efficient your computer will be. I've tried one single partition before, but my computer runs slower than packed glacier.

10 GB partition should be more than enough if you do not intend to install other programs on that partition, otherwise it is better to give it as much space as possible to accomodate all the programs you wish to add to it.
