Be aware that Korea is expensive relative to Malaysia. That being said, Korea is an interesting country, regardless of your interests. If history, there are many places to see (Seoul, however, isn't very old - becoming the capital only in the 1400s). If modern culture, Korea produces much of the music and television drama of Asia. For shopping, there are the latest in styles at high costs down to replica items (try Itaewan or Dongdaemoon).

I would suggest you start by visiting the Korean Folk Village at Suwon for a view of the history and architectual styles of various provences of Korea. Then on to Namsan, especially at night, for a view of the fabulous city. The National Museum will give you an overview of Korean history. Then, you might want to go shopping. There are also a lot of bars and restaurants for young people.

Lonely Planet has a good book on travel in Korea.

You will enjoy your visit.

i'm stunned at how incorrect all those solutions are. I certainly have been to North Korea and that i'm American and the whole element become without incident. There are 4 concepts. 3 are going from South Korea and one is from Beijing. a million. From Seoul, ROK, you are able to visit the DMZ. this would properly be a visit to the heavily militarized border. You technically "go into" North Korea, yet there are patently no Koreans there, although, it continues to be interesting. It fee approximately 40 money alongside with each little thing. 2. From Seoul, there's a three holiday the place you visit Geumgang Mountains and hike for a pair days. that's a tourist hotel, so returned, you heavily isn't seeing any North Koreans different than your excursion instruction manual. It fee approximately 3 hundred money alongside with each little thing. 3. From Seoul, you are able to take a trip to Kaesong (North Korea historical capital). that's a medium sized city and a very interesting excursion. you don't get to speak to the Koreans relatively yet you are able to word them as youcontinual by using city. It expenses 2 hundred money alongside with each little thing. 4. From Beijing, you will get a flight into North Korea, although that's insanely complicated and shady. you are able to no longer e book it earlier than time. you ought to circulate to Beijing and request a flight in individual. you will stay at a North Korean hotel in Beijing and watch for a flight to return by using. as quickly as you're there, you will ought to have 2 guards with you in any respect cases! this might little doubt be thousands of greenbacks. North Korea is worth seeing, even however you're no longer getting a real adventure, using insane government administration. the whole element is rather surreal.

1 USD = 3.513161 MYR
1 USD = 947.5195 KRW
15, March, 2007

You can check the conversion rate KRW against MYR.
approximately 1 MYR = 269 KRW.
Normally if you go to S.Korea, you may pay 5,000 KRW when you eat some meal in normal restaurant. So it means you will pay about 18 MYR.

Bus or subway in Seoul = 1,000 KRW
Restaurant (normally) = 4,000 ~ 5,000 KRW

But if you guys are planning to go to on a trip to Korea economically, You can save money in eating something.
I don't know how long you guys are staying in Seoul. If you are staying there more that 5 days, I want to recommend to buy transportation card. It's about 3,000 ~ 4,000 KRW.
Transportation system of Seoul is very well-developed. especially translation system between subway and bus is well-organized. If you pay cash when you take bus, you have to buy subway ticket when you translate to subway. As I said each of them is 1000 KRW. What if you use transportation card? You don't need to pay again when you translate from subway to bus or from bus to subway.
Anyway the more information you have, the more economical your travel will be. You should gather as much information as you can.

And if you want to check conversion rate, you can use www.xe.com. You can check conversion rate directly.
