A system such as -

3/x + 4/y = 5/2
5/x - 3/y = 7/4 can be solved by eliminations. One way to do this is to let p=1/x and q=1/y. Substitute, solve for p and q, and then find x and y. (hint: 3/x = 3 * 1/x = 3p) Use this method to solve the each system.

What the Hell are they talking about? Q and P? Can someone work out this problem the way these directions are explaining it so I have an idea of what the book is asking me to do and so can go on and do the rest of the problems. Thanks.

How do you fix a problem with a person that doesn't want to talk it out? I have a friend that wants to fix thing between us but she has a problem talking problems out. so far we have only been able to fix things through texts but that is def. not a good way...advice?

....in order to discredit the best and most reliable history book, the bible?

Is it at all damaging to teach children that all of the brilliant worldwide scientists with IQ's of 165+ are all mistaken?how? a book.
That they are all lying? why? hate god.

This is a very frightening thing to raise children on......intellectual child abuse, really.

My female is in full blown heat, but my male isn't interested. Any ideas why? This is an important breeding, and my male just doesn't seem to be interested past licking my female. She is ready to breed, but he doesn't seem to know what to do... They are both of breeding age, and my female has had a litter before. This will be my male's first time (second try!) and he just doesn't seem to get the idea. Has anyone else ever faced this problem? Any solutions?

I had the calipers replaced it sept. but it sat til now. when i drive it, i have no problems, everything working perfect. but after about fifteen minutes of driving my front tires start to seize up. I just replaced the calipers again for the second time a few days ago, now it seems to be doing the same thing. I have had a lot of problems with my brakes in the past. In the last two years i have replaced the master cylinder, vacuum boaster, drums, pads, shoes, calipers x2. After i cools down it drive fine again for another 20 minutes or so then it seizes up agian. Im giving up and taking it to a shop, but everytime i do i seem to get taken for a ride. I would appreciate any comments regarding this topic.

My daughter moved out at 17 to live with her boyfriend, and then by herself to some land her mother owns. I pay her health insurance and in divorce papers have full custody. My daughter told me to claim her on my taxes. I think her mother is committing welfare fraud and using my daughter to get foodstamps. My daughter says that her mother is NOT going to file taxes which I assume is because she technically is claiming to be separated from her husband and does not have enough income. I've already done my daughters taxes, and put down that someone else was claiming her, she got back everything she paid in. If I claim her on my taxes I know the 1040 form asks "how long lived with you". What should I put down? Any input you have on this would be appreciated, as I am totally ignorant in this area, but want to do the right thing.

I want to know what people think of kids being breastfed after a year old and if they think something is wrong with women who do after or around the age of three. I seem to have some mixed thoughts in the whole thing. I was reading one of my parent mag's and it had a page where this mother was still breastfeeding her seven year old. I seem to think this is wrong how about you.
