....in order to discredit the best and most reliable history book, the bible?

Is it at all damaging to teach children that all of the brilliant worldwide scientists with IQ's of 165+ are all mistaken?how? a book.
That they are all lying? why? hate god.

This is a very frightening thing to raise children on......intellectual child abuse, really.

Has anyone actually done this? Or are you speaking in hyperbole and exciting dishonest zeal? What would be your motivation for such a thing?
Science is a wonderful thing. It has given us many marvelous advances. Thanks to science, we can cure a baby in the womb, or we can vaporize the entire city in which it lives in a fraction of a second.
Science is indeed a wonderful thing.

It appears that you think that all Christians are against science and scientists. On the contrary, we value what science has accomplished just as much as you do. However, time has a way of disproving many scientific explanations for things. Just look at the history of science over the past thousand years. Do they still believe that the earth is flat? No. Do they still believe that the sun revolves around the earth? No. Do they still believe that Cancer is catching? No. And I could go on and on about the errors or misinterpretations that science makes every day. This does not mean that they are always wrong. It simply means that as they learn more, they change their interpretation of what they thought they knew before.

As a Christian, I believe that science has misinterpreted the data they have collected regarding the "how" of the universe. Some scientists have already starting moving in the direction of "intelligent design" and someday I believe they will move all the way to God's creation.

Intellectual child abuse?

Taking GOD out of the classroom was the single most WICKED form of ABUSE conceivable. Research the statistics in the area's of behaviors, crime, and all things declining.....when GOD was removed, and thus the accountability to morality....

GOD gave all of those "great scientific minds" all of their knowledge, it is all just one tiny piece in a MUCH larger puzzle. Those IQ's, btw.....are as drooling incapacitated vegetables in light of the wisdom and love of GOD.

I cannot believe people actually think the Word of GOD does harm to children? But I know well enough that this very issue is just another fulfilled prophecy.

I wish you would further investigate the Bible with your heart and not just your mind. You would find ALOT of your beliefs are very off track with TRUTH. I feel sad for you that you wage this personal war, which only hurts You, against the GOD who loves you beyond measure.
God Bless you,
7

With respect, do you think that it's right to teach children that there is nothing / noone greater than themselves to be accountable to; that there's no hope for the future because humans will never be able to get their act together. Is it not possible that the reason so many young people become involved in alcohol and drug abuse do so because of the hopelessness they feel about their future. The people who are supposed to fix things can't. In being taught that there's nothing else, they're being taught that the world will always be as we see it. Fraught with despair and inequality. Is that a fair legacy for our children?

Not all science is bad. If there wasn't science, we probably wouldn't have a lot of what we have today. Maybe it's just the evolution side of science they are trying to discredit. Science has done a lot for society, including medicine.

It is way over the top, thats how people can live for hundreds of years, but stay in the dark ages. They can't put new knowledge with old knowledge. A civilization clash.

Definitely whacked to deny that which is proven in favor of a book written before man could possibly know of many things.

what im not sure where you stance is. but they still have not proven either theory so i think that both should be taught in our schools because then a child has an open mind. let them deside what stance they want to take. We dont want to brain wash them with evolution is the only way we came to earth and once you die your body will decay and thats it. Its wrong ( teaching it without fact).
may GOD bless you and everyone you love.

I agree entirely. It is a major threat to society, but one which can not be dealt with in any manner that I can think of which I would find acceptable. We cannot burn the Bibles, no matter how much they deserve it.
