and my partner's mother is already criticizing me. Last night she asked my partner if we had thought of any names, and he told he that we both had agreed that if it was girl, we'd name her Lyra. She wrinkled her nose and said, "Oh, I don't like that." She wants us to name our child something more "normal"...a common name such as Amy or Beth.

There's nothing WRONG with these names, but we chose the name Lyra because it's NOT common. It's the name of a constellation, and I think it's beautiful to name a girl after the stars!

Ultimately, it's our baby and our choice what we name her, but mom-in-law really hurt my feelings. I've got another 6 months to deal with her trying to get us to name our kid something "common" when that's the last thing I want to do (my name is Jessica and I know how it is in school to be 1 of 10 with the same name). Even if it's a boy, he's not going to be John or Matt like she wants.

How would you deal? What would you say next time she brought it up?

last nite i was out in the night cub i was walken to the bar withme mates and a girl came up to me and said i havent seen you for ages in mined i dont even now her or seen her before , so i asked her what do you mean ? she said you use to walk past my house last summer and when you got your new car u drive past now again and then she gos on by tellen me were is her locel pub is were she useualy gos with her mates and then she told me what house she lives in but in the end of all this she didnt give me hernumber because a big fight kicked off and we split up she looked hot and i wouldnt mind meetn her again what can i do shall i just walk past her house again and see if she gives me a shout or what i dont now this one is hard

When I turn on my comp it says the disk(internal) needs to be checked for errors. I can skip this or let it check. If I let it check it takes about 20 minutes. If I dont stand by my comp during startup, it will nit skip disk check. Why doesnt it fix the errors and quit disk checking on next startup? Thanks in advance....

Ok, my sister had a desktop computer and I have a laptop, I just want to make my laptop wireless so I can use it but not their desktop. I know I have to buy a wireless router but there is only one ethernet connection so how am I gonna do this, is there some type of splitter? Also I try to just take the internet connection out of their computer and just hook it into mine but it won't connect roght, it just says this connection has limited or no connectivity, is there anyway to make it work that way? My computer is a lot faster and I like all my settings and want to use mine, so people that know about this please help. Thanks.

im a 20 year old college student living in the dorms of a huge university with no friends and all i do is play piano and draw, thats what im doing now and its friday night. never had a girlfriend, never kissed anyone. i sit in my room alone for about 10 hours a day not including sleep. I havent spoken a single word for the past 4 days and usually only speak about a sentaence a day (usually when answering questions in class) one positive... i got a 3.94 gpa. sometimes i feel like im kinda wierd/creepy ( dont care though) is that true or are there a lot of peolple like me?
