We tried once with each of our girls when I was about 24 weeks pregnant. Ours girls didn't open their legs so we didn't find out then. After those ultrasounds, I changed my mind about finding out. I no longer wanted to know until I delivered. I have to say it was awesome finding out when I delivered.

I am 15 weeks and 1 day pregnant and I found out the sex of my baby when I was 13 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Its a boy!!! I have the pictures to prove it! I just had an ultrasound because the doctors needed to determine how far along I was and there it was, a penis.

My husband and I made an active decision not to find out the sex of our baby. We could however have found out at the 20 week scan.

Yes I did, for my 2nd baby. I remember the experience of having my first baby without knowing the sex beforehand. Well the birth turned out to be quite a traumatic experience and I was so sore I couldn't walk for weeks, and imagine feeling like that and still having to rush to the shops to get baby clothes for her (even though I had the help of my husband and relatives)... it wasn't nice. Woulda been great if I'd known the sex beforehand and bought loads of baby clothes before she arrived so that everything was ready from the word go.

With my first 2 it was local hospital policy not to disclose the sex of the baby, but I could have asked with my 3rd.I decided it was more fun not knowing and they cant be 100% anyway. I think the scan can pick this up from around 18 weeks..I think its better to not find out because you love your baby instantly no matter what sex it is and if the baby is healthy is shouldn't be important if its a boy or girl.

I found out I was having a baby boy at 13 weeks! My consultant was scanning me and my other half asked him if he could tell the sex, so he had a look and said it was "most probably" a boy!
This was confirmed at my 20 week scan and I had my son on 30 November 2006!
I was too impatient to wait for the birth, plus I like the idea of knowing "who" I was waiting for. We were able to have his name all picked out, buy his blue clothes and stuff.
I hate it when people say "oh you shouldn't find out" - its up to the individual.

I found out with my first that he was a boy at the 20 week scan, I couldn't help knowing, he had his legs wide open!!
I found out with this pregnancy at 20 weeks too (I'm 30 weeks now), I wanted to know this time round, as it was a high risk pregnancy and I felt very close to my baby. She's a girl due April!!

I have an ultrasound scheduled for this coming Thursday at 19 weeks. We are not going to find out the sex - so few things are a good surprise in this life that we want to have this one!!!
