My friend recently developed a very bad infection on her tongue after having it pierced a few weeks before. She keeps complaining to me about the pain and I told her I would do some research to help her out. While I surfed around the web I became interested in infections in general and would like to know more about them. If you could answer the following questions for me it would be very much appreciated:

1. Where is the most probably place on your body that a piercing could become infected?

2. Can you die from an infection on your ears or any other spot where piercings are most commonly found?

3. How would you treat an infected tongue piercing if you cannot apply antibiotics?

4. What are the first symptoms of infected piercings?

5. At what stage of an infection does a piercing begin to release fluids?

6. If the infection is minor but has the potential to become worse should you remove the stud or leave it in?

I started CPAP 3 months ago and feel much better but have read and been told by several people that you have an incresed chance of a bacterial infection in the lining around the brain and spinal cord (meningitis) while using one. Has anyone heard of someone getting this while using CPAP?

I have a '99 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, and I recently had the Master and Slave Cylinders replaced. Now I only reach the point of engagement on my clutch when I let the pedel all of the way out, instead of a just few inches off the floor like it used to be. My pedel is less than an inch away from the resting position before my clutch engages, making it extremely difficult to drive. I also have far less acceleration than I used to have. Can this be adjusted, or is this something that the transmission shop screwed up? If my clutch pedel travel could be rated on a scale of 1-10, where 1 is pressed to the floor, and 10 is completely released, the point of engagement is now about a 9, when it used to be about a 4.

I never new what the name of it was. It was a movie that I caught on HBO in the middle of the night and I didn't have a T. V. Listing handy. It may have been the weirdest movie I've ever seen. This is more of a hypothetical question than anything but I was wondering, since I heard birth control is less effective after a missed pill (one day of forgetting to take the pill) -- does this still apply if the missed day happened to be during the period? So if a girl forgot to take her pill one day during her period and a few days later had unprotected sex, would the missed pill greatly affect the chances of becoming pregnant?
