The heaviest snow of the winter has hit large areas of the UK, closing schools and disrupting transport.

Luton, Stansted, Cardiff, Bristol and Birmingham airports have closed runways and train services have also been affected.

North America and Europe have been struck by some of the coldest weather of the year, getting as cold as -22C in Winnipeg and Chicago, and -31C in Helsinki.

Has your commute been affected? Have your children got the day off school? How well prepared was your local council for the bad weather? Has the snow brought you a day of fun or misery? What's the weather like on the other side of the Atlantic?

I posted a question a few days ago asking what to do about this pregnancy...well, I want to update you all and let you know that I had a doctor's appointment and I found out that I'm having TWINS!! I don't think this is a bad thing at all anymore bc I've realized how blessed I truly am to experience such a miracle. I saw my babies on the ultrasound and I was just in aww bc they're just so beautiful. It's still hard to believe that I am going to be a mommy...but the thing is that I know NOTHING about babies or what to do. How do I do this from scratch?? Do I need to go to classes or read books...what do I do?? I want to be the best 20yr old single mom and make my babies proud. I want them to know that they don't need their daddy to be whole bc I'm going to be a better parent then he could ever be. I just don't know how.

We have a 2 year old and I am trying to figure out if we should send him home with his grandmother after the day of the wedding. We have never spent days away from him, so this is a bit hard for me... especially since he is so young still.

Offered one of the choices below to handle your food or escape situation.

1. One fast food joint of your choice (hypothetical of course)
2. Hunt / Fish for food (plenty of resources) and you could make tea / coffee
3. Farm your food (plenty of fertile soil and fruits and veggies) and you could make tea / coffee
4. One small canoe with one oar and no food (to try and escape the island)

I know that devoir when used as a verb means "have to" or "must". But i found a problem when using the interogative forms of this verb, because "dont have to" and "mustn't" mean different things. So, is the interogative form of devoir equivalent to "dont have to" or "mustn't?"

My friend has an 8 week old pit bull/hound puppie (half n half), he was wondering if it was okay to shave his whiskers? Will it detriment his health or well being in any way? What are the pros/cons? He is not and will not be a show dog, though he is ADORABLE and so well behaved, already. It's just an annoyance factor. The pup rubs against my friends face and his whiskers irritate it. Please advise. Facts preferred, not personal opinion. The dog is treated like a CHILD, I am all for animal rights, and I don't feel it to be a cruel act. Will this hurt the dog? Thanks.
