12 weeks
very easy..
pay attention in class.
Every 3 weeks Johnny earns $6.00.
Therefore,
after 3 weeks he'd have $6.00
after 6 weeks he'd have $12.00 (6+6=12)
after 9 weeks he'd have $18.00 (12+6=18)
and after 12 WEEKS he'd have $24.00 (18+6=24)

rate of savings = $6/3weeks and $12/6 weeks .... $2 a week.
savings = weeks * 2
if you want to know when savings is 24, then solve for that.
24 = weeks * 2
or weeks = 24/2 = 12
