3 weeks ago my ex-bf called me & asked me to go see a movie with him. The weird thing is that HE was the one who dumped me, we only dated for one month AND this call came after one year. I said yes, he picked me up, then as soon as the movie was done he drove me home. It felt kinda rushed, on the drive home when I asked him why he wanted to see he said, "I wanna see you every once in awhile". We never had sex cuz he knew that I wanna save myself for marriage. During this year although he never asked me to see him, he did talk to him on msn. Is he stringing me along & what does he want? He's 26 while I'm 21.Some say he wants sex, but he knows my beliefs and he can get anywhere since a lot of girls put out.

I know that basketball, and pull ups and such help you grow taller.
I started my period about 2 months ago, and my mom said that im supposed to lose weight. I want to lose weight, but im afriad if I lose weight, I wont grow taller. Im 11 years old, and im 5'3. I haven't grown that much in the last 2 months. How can I grow taller while loosing weight? Also, I don't like milk, so what other types of drinks and stuff can help me lose weight to grow taller?

He's expressed a desire to die, but he hasn't really developed a method for doing so, at least I don't think, and he refuses to seek any treatment. He is extremely depressed, and he has a lot to be depressed about. He has AIDS and some kind of muscle condition affecting his legs and back, so he can barely walk with a cane and lives off disability. He is an alcoholic, so much so that he shakes when he can't get alcohol and drinks until he's incapacitated nearly every day. He has only a ninth grade education, is not intellectually inclined at all, and long time drug use has robbed him of some of his mental ability, so he is unemployable and has few things to do with his time. He keeps his room in the most deplorable condition I've ever seen and often neglects his hygeine. It's obvious that a lot is going wrong in his life, but if you try to tell him and offer advice, you'll hurt his pride and probably get cursed out.

What could you say to this person to make him want to live?

I am hoping to get an answer for this question from a philosophical point of view: I am 40 and single. When I go out to meet people, I feel conscious about my age because I have noticed that men (no matter what their age) prefers younger female. I look at the younger female around, and I also agree myself that many of them are more attractive than I am. I compare myself with the ladies who are older than I am, and I find myself more lucky than they are in the dating scenes. No one want to be alone, but we are where we are now. The fact is that we are no longer as desirable physically. There are people who says that we should marry yourself first, and there are people who switch their efforts into volunteering, etc., but I know that deep inside, there is a void that we really want to fill..... To me, many of the advises of how to deal with aging are just ways to divert your attention to the facts and the inevitable. Are there better advises, perspectives out there?

I starting taking seroquel as part of an research study; they got people with Major Depression and they're trying out Seroquel as a medicaition (it's usually used for Bipolar or Schizophrenia). They mentioned cataracts as a possible side effect. The doctor with the study said it's not likely because the cataracts happened only with dogs who given seroquel and not people. Now my eye doctor says I'm getting cataracts, I have been in the Seroquel study for eight months. I'm going to be 50 this month, isn't that a little young to have cataracts?

For those of you eligible and supporters of Bush and the Iraq war, what is your reasoning for not joining the military? I served in the first Gulf War. I am 38 and against the war. Now you know where I stand on this, I would like to know why you choose not to serve if you believe we are doing the right thing in Iraq. I am not addressing this to current mlitary personnel. Our brave soldiers might be fighting in Iraq at this moment. It would be much easier to enjoy your life if there weren't so many things trying to kill you every day. However, it would be a disaster if soldiers who had been sent to Iraq come back with fatal bacteria. According to the writer of “The Invisible Enemy”, Steve Silberman, the entire article is about the spread of anti-biotic resistant pathogens, a problem in hospitals here in the US and Europe. It is not specific to Iraq. It is about hundreds of thousands dying as a result of bacteria brought home from Iraq. Silberman wants his readers to realize how the bacteria can be dangerous to American as well as all over the world. He just listed problems, didn’t give solution about the problems. He should have covered the progress of growing bacteria.
