Anyone familiar with small shop / legal situations
I took in a piece of equipment for a repair.
The equipment had a simple situation which needed a few screws removed and an item soldered.

while the equipment was away from my sight, the volume knob got broken off.
The repairer does not admit responsibility but I know for a fact that the control was 100% intact when it was taken in. The way it is broken indicates it took a sharp knock to the side
basically he is going to order a new one and expects me to pay for it. (£7.85 - price from manufacturer)

I cannot *prove* that the knob was intact when I took it in
Up until now, There was no invoice or receipt indicating the shops position (ie, I havent seen anything that says 'this shop does not accept responsibility for any damage...... etc, etc)

what is the legal position?

This guy has been extra showering extra attention to me. I've hinted to him that gossips are going around and we had better keep our distance. He was upset for several days after my "hint". Now, 2 months down the road, my crush on him is no less, but we will never be an item, so I intend to bury it deep down my heart. recently we had dinner together and I feel that he still enjoys my company, but somehow he seems to give reasons for any single thing that might give me the wrong idea that he is giving me extra attention. Blade Runner was released to DVD as the Director's cut but the Theatrical release was NOT ... what can be done to get the theatrical release released on DVD or perhaps re-released in theaters? The Theatrical version had the narration.

They look like a freak show now but they think they are cool.
I ask them what they want me to buy them for Birthdays and Christmas and its always some of the above mentioned items.
I and my wife do not subscribe to this but we usually give them a blank check as they are pretty honest about not over charging our bank account.
I can't complain in their behavior as they are not in trouble with the police and both have good jobs that pay a living wage.
I just wonder if they are going to get their children the same treatment? well, whats a parent going to do?

These are both 'mobile' processors and are in laptops. I've found something online that says that the Athlon actually runs at 1.6 GHz if wired up a certain way and I know that the Celeron is a low end spec....

My old company laptop has the Athlon and my new one has the Celeron and I am worried that it won't actually be any faster. Has my company bought me a lower spec machine?

This bike has been off the road and boxed for years.When it last ran it was on leaded petrol. With the unleaded petrol of today do the valves need to be changed or do I need to use a fuel additive or just run it on unleaded. I am not gay nor do not have the desire to be. I am however hurt by how some people treat gays. I believe some of them are born that way and thats how they will be for the rest of their lives.
