I remember reading this book in 7th grade as part of a school assignment. The book is about a young lady who is betrothed to the duke of (milan??) but he ignores he and fools around with his mistress. She ends up becoming friends with Leonardo da Vinic while he is painting her portrait. It takes into accoung events that happened in Leonardo's life and tells it with a twist.
I think it was called the wife of________ but I'm not sure.

I just microwave TV dinners for supper and get breakfast at the office cafeteria so I don't have to worry about dishes or cooking, which I haven't done for days now. It must be the midwinter hibernation thing. I convinced myself that I don't need to worry about vacuuming and the like, either.

How do people who follow a faith resolve with a set of beliefs that defy rational thought?

If you read the Bible, or the Koran, or any other religious texts, the ideas, concepts and stories are absolutely ridiculous, they defy logic, yet millions of people follow them with open arms.

Now whilst I realise the less intellectually gifted can be "forgiven", but lots of intelligent people follow a religion. That said the intellectual elite of this world are almost resoundingly atheist, but still there are plenty who "believe"..

Do they compartmentalise faith and logic in separate boxes?

(and please no quotes from the bible, or comments about how I am the one who is deluded...yawn..)

here and now Im at the house right now. I told him Id be here when he wakes up but hes making me really mad about this whole thing so Im thinking about just leaving and not being here when he gets up. i have 3 kids 6,3, and 11 months.
at the beginning of november last year i went to put the heating on and it did work i told the landlord and he said he will get the plumber to fix it 3 weeks later he told me again he will get the plumber to fix it. another 3-4 weeks later i saw him while i was out and he said that he has given the plumber the money to go get a new boiler ect that he needed to fix it. a week b4 christmas the told me he has stopped all the plumbers jobs and told himt o fix my heating and 2 weeks after christmas when he came round ai said to him i thought you said you have stopped all the plumbers jobs so he could fix mine and he said no i didnt say that (when i know he did) then he told me the plumber jot 3 jobs to do b4 mine i was like wtf.
and i still havent heard anything
ive been told by the citazins advice beareau that i cant stop the rent as i can be avicted, im not bothered about being avicted but where trying to get a mortgage so that wil go againt me

I mean if he was such a great man of peace, he could have resigned, saying i will do whatever is necessity to end this problem. he knew if he tried to resupply and send additional troops to Fort Sumter, that the South would fire on them, then the slave issue, i don't understand, how can you fight a war for almost 2 years, and then decide why your fighting it, i think Lincoln knew that England and France were close to coming into the war on the side o f the South and knew he could not win the war, if that happened, so, the only thing he could do to stop them from entering the war , was to ban slavery, knowing that neither country would enter the war under such circumstances. give me your thoughts on this
