Yes, I am aware that Italy is a Pennisula and that it has experienced several invasions by Arabs, Spanish, etc.
Also, I know that Southern Italy was originally settled by Greeks.
Why I am so curious is because I am Southern Italian American and I am unsure of how to classify myself. People either want to paint us white or black. I was wondering what science has to say about this. I know that Race is an illusion but I still have to fill out legal forms. I have heard the saying "Africa begins at Rome" but I was wondering how true the saying is now due to DNA testing.

A coworker sent me an email that I was too weird for him to be friends with because I was sending him mixed signals. We had been close for awhile and I told him it was best that we ignore each other so I can get over my crush on him since he already has a gf. Anyway during all of this, he suggested that the best way to get over him was to sleep with him. I thought he really wanted me because he kept asking if I wanted to do it. Then he told me that I should do it with someone else since he already has a gf. Of course, I felt hurt ,angry, and embarrassed since I told him things that I wanted him to do to me. A few days later I called him a dog via text since he jerked my feelings around, then I felt bad about it and wrote a letter apologizing to him. This is what provoked him to ignore me for the past month. A few days ago, he looked at me like he wanted to say hello and I emailed him asking him if we could just treat each other like coworkers and say hi. He told me I was too werd.

I don't want to believe that the vast majority of the women I'd met in my life cared only for the wonderful way I treated them without really being in love with me as a person. I need someone to love me because of who I am, not just because I'm caring or tender. I need a woman who wants me out of everyone else just as I want her out of everyone else. Should I keep the faith I'd ever find one?

I see so many gramatical errors when I browse through these questions. One person put quotation marks around the word yellow when describing the color of a rose. The level of ignorance in this country is very frightning. It is no wonder that other countries look down upon us and view us as simple buffoons.

I'm curious - how many parents here teach their children to ask the owner before approaching a strange dog?

My dog is afraid of small children (she was mistreated before I got her). I'm trying to train her to get used to people and not be nervous, but it's hard to take her out in public - not because she misbehaves (she's big but very gentle), but because I'm always having to block strange children from running up and touching her - or, to my amazement, grabbing, hitting, or even trying to kick at her! It seems like only one out of twenty will ask politely before trying to approach her (I'm so glad for those polite kids!).

Why don't people teach their children to ask first? As a parent, what would your response be if your child ran up to a strange dog and the owner blocked the child and said "No! please leave the dog alone - she's afraid". Would you get angry & defensive, or would you stop & think about teaching your child to ask before approaching a strange dog?

My friend and I signed a 12 month lease which expires May 31st. We want to move to Texas and I have informally contacted the leasing office regarding this matter and the only way out of the lease is to give 30 days notice and pay a fine of a month and a half month's rent which would be around $1,100. The only security on the apartment was $100 nonrefundable so that's of no concern. My roommate wants to pick up and leave without paying the fine and I am concerned about the negative effect on my credit. My questions are how do we get out of the lease or should we just leave? And if we break the lease early how serious are the consequences? We are moving out of state and have no ties to NC whatsoever. Thanks for the suggestion!

I just got of antideprssants about 2 months ago. they caused me to gain 100lbs. I hate myself. I wish I never had to even take them. im on pms and I eat so unhealthy and eat so much. Its kinda hard to find healthy food I like b/c my mom doesnt like to shop that much. I cook alot and im gonna be a chef but i get cravings for cup o noodles. I am addicited to cup of noodles.i have a big costco case of them and I eat like 5 a day. they are so good. should I take diet pills?? i used to take them. I think im gonna work out today. why is it so hard to lose weight? I hate this grrrrrrrrrrrrr

It is so funny to me how people word things.

Oh, I could go and on with these kind of remarks I have seen here and heard religious people say.It is just so funny to me.Do they think we haven't heard all that before?It's not like we don't have TV or the Internet to learn about the many torments that await us if we don't believe.Why must it be cycled over and over and over again?Do they honestly think that they are converting people with ultimatums?Or do they say this as a way to reassure themselves that they still believe?

If someone said to you, "accept polka music or go to Hell", would it instantly make you want to love polka music?Why do they think that works when they use that line to force people to accept faith?

I cheated on my wife in the past (few times), was on drugs, partyed and slept out often, even got arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. I was a real jerk! for couple of years.
l confessed to all I did and we sort of worked things out. The problem is that she continues to dwell in the past, I also drink over the weekends and she is totally against that. I enjoy 3-4 beers and need her to understand that. Ambition is another issue, I feel as though she does not support my ambitions.
Everytime I talk about the ideas I have, she seems not too keen, I feel as though she just brushes the conversation aside. What do you think? I know that I did wrong and try to make her trust and belive me. I have been clean for 3 years now, and as God is my witness~I have made 380 turn around.

I have recently broke up with my girlfriend because i felt sufficated and didn't have any liberty to do what i wanted. She always seemed to get jealous when I went out with my guy friends and disapproved of anything that I wanted to do while i am still young (20 years old), like attending parties; with all that party stuff. I felt like i couldnt be myself and stopped viewing her as a girlfriend but more like someone who will never be lienent with me. I feel bad because she loves me so much and hurting her seems to hurt me. My feelings started to disappear after small things she did or didnt let me do started fustrating me..is this normal for the breaker-uper to feel bad?

On the top of a tall building in a large city, there was a bar. In this bar, a man was drinking heavily. He would ask the bartender for a tequila shot, then walk out to the balcony and jump off. Minutes later, he would appear in the elevator and repeat the whole process.
