It could something as simple as gas. Yes, gas...and it can hurt like heck. Air gets trapped in your intestine. It will move around and go away.
It could be your gallbladder--that' also in that area. If you have severe pain, fever, nausea, vomiting.....or the pain you have now doesn't go away soon----then you need to see your doctor right away.

I think it's an alien in there. Maybe they abducted you while you where sleeping? You should go immediately to the doctor and tell them that you have an alien in your belly on your right side just above the belt line and it really hurt and you don't know what to do. I'm sure the doctor will run tests and you'll be okay.

Im almost 34 weeks preg and a few weeks ago i got bad pains on my right side only, it didnt go away for about 5 days so i went and saw a doc and he told me i have a torn ligament (like the main one that holds the uterus in place) . it hurts when i walk, lay down and stuff too so maybe thats it! and i also got the pain in my belly but it was under my belly button and it turned out to be related to bowel movement! congrats and goodluck

It might be trapped gas which can cause extreme pain.
If it persists go to a doctor, it could appendisitis or your spleen.

if it is severe pain, and it began first around your unbelica, and you are nauseated it may be appendisitis, if pain increase go to ER, but if not don't be worry , it may be only diarrhea pain, or normal abdominal pain, take care
