For those not familiar,one person hangs from the leg of another ,struggling to hang from the edge of the shaft,while the lift hurtles out of control toward them.Its not possible for the lower person to survive and only possible for the top person to survive if he kicks the other person off his leg.
On the movie,someone shouting from above shouts this decision to kick away the guy.Easy decision,hes a mexican minor character threatening to remove a major character.
However,in real life,if the lower guy was your son/brother/sister,would you bark out these instructions knowing your family members fate is sealed regardless?
Is it immoral and to instruct the death of another in good sense to save a life,if one is not prepared to give the same order if your family member is being kicked down the shaft?

Summing up,we are not just looking at whether it is correct to make such a decision,but whether it is correct to give it for someone who you dont care for and incorrect for someone you do

My dads 78 yrsd old
Hes got lukeimia. The lattest diagnosis is not months but weeks.
Im living with him.Hes still fit to get around but reality is finaly hitting home.
we dont know what to say .what to do.just feeling sad and scared.any advice please.

also anyone out thier struggles to get on with work colleages.

When I urinate into the toilet it produces a kind of foam, a bit like the head on a beer. Spoke to my brother who does not experience this effect. This is not related to how much beer or fizzy drinks i consume. Whats going on?

I have a friend whom I've known for many years- basically, we're very close and have been through A LOT together. However, this friend has always had an intense desire to be popular (ever since high school) and would practically give anything to be the centre of attention. What bothers me most, is the fact that despite so many years of being close friends, I seem to be the last person she cares about. If she's hosting a party that everybody has known about for weeks, I'm the girl she calls the night beforehand to let me know about it. At social occasions, she makes a point of spending time talking to everybody, yet can't spare five minutes with me. It frustrates me that our friendship means so little to her, and that she'd be willing to put people whom she's known for ten minutes before me. It's not that I expect her to be attached at the hip with me, I just wish she'd try to make more of an effort to care about me as much as I care about her. What do I do to solve this problem?

In this age of internet, satelite tv and globalisation there is a fear that countires and groups are losing their own identity. If you turn on the radio or tv in the likes of Australia, Engalnd or USA you will hear and see the same music and tv programmes. Teenagers in Ireland and the US are likely to do the same types of things in their spare time and wear the same types of clothes, watch the same tv shows and listen to the same music. If you were to walk around Paris, London, Dublin, Melbourne or Toronto you will see the same names of shops, fast food places and the same kinds of pubs and clubs. Are we all losing our own distinct identity?
