I haven't been to school in a few days, and my teacher was already asking me where i was. Then she walked into the classroom later on that day and was staring straight at me the whole time with a kinda smile on her face. She's usually gettin into my business, like b4 she gives me something to grade, she'll be like " do this after you get done with ur....(looking) english hw" Sometimes when she's showin me how to do something, she'll get really close to where her head is almost touching mine and her hair is brushing against my arm ( no exaggeration!!). Sometimes she'll look at me outta the corner of her eyes. When other teachers talk about me, she'll take up for me and say "she's nice." What does all this mean? Why is she acting like this?

In Nov. my sister-in-law had a b-day party for my daughter and invited her nieghbor and her kids. Her neighbor called during the party and said to wait for her cuz she was on her way. After 45 mins the neighbor came over and said nevermind my kids don't want to come. I let that go. On Christmas my family went to my sister-in-laws house and the neighbor came over and when I said Merry Christmas to her she said whatever and pushed me out of the way. Well out of respest for my sister-in law I didn't do anything, but now my sister-in-law is having a birthday party for my niece. She told me it was just a small family thing. The next day she told me that she invited her nieghbor. I don't want to go. I don't think I can be nice to her at all. I can't stand her. My sister-in law knows and said she had to invite her cuz it's her neighbor. What should I do?

Have you been just "dropped" or abandoned by someone important in your life? Whether it was a parent, friend, or significant other? It amazes me that some of them try to come back and they think they can just have that spot back in your life. What do you say to someone that hurts you so badly, and leaves you behind like you don't matter anymore.. when they show up at your door asking for forgiveness? I'm talking months or YEARS later. I think of it as "too little, too late", and why would I trust them again? What is your opinion on a situation like this. I just think that giving them the satisfaction of forgiveness just enables them. I think people like that are cowards and can live with their shame on their own, and shouldn't bother trying to get the load of their shoulders by saying they're sorry years later. I think at that point, it's more for them, then for the abandoned one. I mean, I can forgive, but I really can't forget the pain that was caused by the person. And you???

There is evidence from practically every scientific field of study (biology, genetics, radiology, geology, paleontology, anthropology, linguistics, etc.) that evolution exists. And not just a study or two, but a MOUNTAIN of evidence from the last century and a half. Yet so many Americans still won't accept the truth because their fundamentalist minister (who never received a scientific degree and the most science he ever got was in some divinity school lecture taught by another nonscientist) says that it is false.

They go out of their way to find a crackpot who will agree with them (and who usually does it to sell books) and publish a study that totally disregards the scientific method, uses anecdotes as fact, and quotes other like-minded crackpots looking to sell something. Yet when it comes to information in truly scholarly scientific journals that's been reviewed by peers in other scientific fields, these people won't believe it. Why are these people so closed-minded to science?
