I will be moving into a new apartment soon...?

and would like some things from India .... do you know any stores in New York City or near the city that sell things for the house?

Try Pier 1, they carry all sorts of things from all around the World. And you can probably score BIG on eBay!! And save a lot of $$$ !! Just search whatever you have in mind, like "lamp from India", or "India". You'll probably come up with a ton of items. Pierced Brass lamp would be a good search too:)
