I was at my niece's christening party, and a man that i had been talking to, who knew my name, tried to get my attention by saying "hey, black girl". I couldn't believe it! It took me by so much surprise, but what shocked me more, was the fact that the other people at the party (who heard perfectly well what he had called me) said nothing in my defence, and didn't bother to tell him off for being racist. It genuinely hurt me that my friends (who i ave known for at least six years), would let somebody say something like that to me. How do i deal with this problem? Its like none of them understand how hurt i feel at what that man said.
