Religion is simply man's way of getting into Heaven. Its so difficult for people's minds to grasp that God's grace is sufficient enough for our salvation. He has certain expectations of us, yes, to try to live based on the idealogic teachings of Jesus ... but there are no list of rules that we must follow in order to make it to the afterlife. The assumption of man is that grace simply can't be enough, that WE must have some part in our getting to Heaven. Surely there is something that we must do in order to secure our place in the Kingdom of God!
That's why there is so much argument about what God approves of -- whether its abortion, homosexuality, etc -- in our own minds, we've convinced ourselves that our actions have a direct effect on getting us into Heaven. That's the whole point of religion, so we can feel we're actively doing something to secure our eternal life ... when its all so not necessary.

Well , to my best knowledge , God cannot have a religion , because He made the religion, so the religion must obey to a real God , not a an idol.The difference between an idol and the real God are as it follows:God is a person looking like a man , and has shown up only to the people of Israel.The other people :greek, egiptians, romans were having idols coming from demons like the god of war, the goddess of love , a lot of gods, anyway. So from the history of Israel and the Holly books (torah , and the Bible )it results the real God is only the Holly Trinity.God -The Father , God The Son of The Father -Jesus Christ who is has also the condition of a god because he is an eternal son (He was sent on Earth , having the quality of The Son of God )and The Third person .The Holly Spirit , or The Holly Ghost((I don't know the English for ..)So those who believe that Jesus was only a prophet , it doesn't mean that they believe in Jesus Christ and according to Christian Theology , I suppose only those who believe that Jesus is The son Of God and also a god , can be called Christians , having the true faith, and having the Truth.

God has religion or not I don't know. I will ask you who told you so? Religion is like a toy in the hand of a child. It is like teaching our children A for apple. what is the use of an apple in education? Once he recognises the A then there is no use of an apple. Same is the case with religion. To develop the understanding of values,love and respect we need a system which is called religion.

If God be with you, there will be no need for anything. You may discard everything, including your religion. Swami Niranjananda Saraswathi has said that religions were not created by the religous teachers, but by the followers who came after the teacher. In Hindu religion, the sanyasi gives up every thing, after he takes sanyas, including his caste identification marks.

ur qustion is really good but no man has ever said or a leader has said we need a religion but we r following the customs and making every thing to be a religion a religion is needed to guide us to a safer place where no one says a word like jealous voilence etc so a religion is a guide book for us to reach god or to obtain mukthi

Religion is a name given by people to a set of human values, which they should follow in their day-to-day life. You can give it any name you like.
As far as God is concerned, those who believe in Him, have a personal relationship with Him. Here also, people have given different names to God. There are also people who claim that they do not believe in any God.

God provides us with the purpose of our existence and if we seek to do good it is the same as seeking to do the will of God. Your belief in God only has value in so far as you live your life according to His purpose for you.
How then do we know what is the will of God? That is where religion comes in. GOD has revealed His will through prophets. To find out what this is you need to study the revelation.

Islam is not a religion, but its a complete way of life.

Eg 1: islam says, Do not drink water in the standing posture.Now the scientist have proven that if we drink water in the standing posture the stones are formed in the bladder.
Eg.2: islam says that when a boy is below 12 yrs, it is compulsory to cut a thin layer of the penis.Now the scientist have proven that by doing this it keeps the bosy healthy & the boy is able to control his desires
Eg.3: Islam forbids pigs. Now the scientist have proven that the germs & bacteria contains in the pigs is not killed even after 1000 degrees of heat.

Now u can analyse & come to an conclusion that islam is not a religion but its an complete way of life

You can't say God has no religion. He created us. He has some " rules " in life and those are His religion. We have to live according with those rules.
