I teach high school mathematics and I'm always looking for new ideas. It's my first year of teaching and some of my consequences for behavior problems work and some don't. My school does not have a detention and I am not allowed to hold one. In fact, my administration is not very supportive at all, so I'm looking for more creative and effective ways to discipline students. One of my consequences is that they have to copy all the words out of the glossary of their text book under a certain letter, including diagrams. This has been a good consequence. The kids don't like it so they avoid getting in trouble again if that is their consequence. I call parents and occasionally send kids to the office if it's bad enough, but it's not very effective. I'm just wondering if there are other teachers out there with more ideas on ways to discipline students creatively without isolating them. Thanks.

I generally have good skin, but recently, I've been quite stressed and I've been breaking out! Not my entire face or anything like that but a few red and noticeable spots. Can anyone recommend either a good natural or shop-bought remedy that actually works? I've bought a few different 'spot sticks' like clearasil, witch, etc which don't actually help.

im in year 11 and today when i woke up i was all right, but in the first lesson in school i started to feel very and a bit sick, i didnt say anything to the teacher because i wanted to stay in class because we are currently doing preparation for exams and coursework so i didnt want to miss anything, in second lesson i had science and we had just started doing coursework, and i was shaking all over and feeling very very cold i started to get sick again and my wrists and back were killing me, i couldnt even write properly becase of shaking, i couldnt sit any more and just wanted to lie down somewhere and go to sleep, after second lesson i went to the medical room and then got sent home. im still feeling that i have a bit fever and been sleeping since i came from school 11 o clock, what have been the reason for feeling so cold and shaking so much that i wasnt even able to write of sit on a chair???can some one tell what the what it can be? it happened to me first time ever.

hi, i am 24 and my boyfriend is 19.
i have been in a relationship with him for 9 months and i am hopelessly in love with him. Currently, we live 40 mins away from each other. I will be recieving my masters in may and he dropped out of college and is now in a performing arts school. I am sure he loves me and when we are together we have some of the most breathtaking experiences. It has been rough since I had to make some sacrifices and he has too. However, his goal is to be a part of a dance company and he will be traveling alot so I wont see him alot. I will be able to come with him sometimes but not all the time. This bothers me because I am the type of person that wants to be with my boyfriend almost like every 3 days. I have tried repeatedly to break up with him but I just cant. But this relationship hurts me so bad when we are apart, and the feeling of knowing that we will be apart more often really makes me hurt. I need to do something please response with advice.

I gained and retained Alot of water while pregnant I'm about 5'4" and weigh 163 now .... I had the baby 8 months ago and I would love to lose 30..... even 20 pounds by his first birthday.
So far i have joined the gym Curves(i go 3 times a week), I have a exercise bike(Use it atleast once a week for 30 mins).... what other things can i do to help?

If these so called greenhouse gasses are made up of mainly carbon dioxide, a gas that plants use in the same manner that we use oxygen, would that not mean that every plant on the planet would benifit from the increase in c02 ? If so, then wouldnt the plants on the planet produce more Oxygen? Is this so called global warming just a fact of nature ie. we are finally exiting the ice age and now the planet is going back to the original way it was? warm enough to sustain coldblooded creatures such as the dinosaurs? This is what I believe to be fact...Our governments are just using the global warming scare to control us more...thats it.
Further more, all of our destinations are the same, one day we will all draw that losing card and cash in. So instead of causing more worry in these already scary times, realise that this world is going to warm up with or without the humans on board. Time to take your heads out of the sand and wake up to the governments scare tactics.
