First of all to answer your question - yes, you absolutely can. I wanted to loose 30 pounds for my wedding. I started in the end of November and my wedding was in August and I'd lost all 30 pounds by the beginning of March (which is less time than you have). All I did was Weight Watchers with hardly any exercise. SO, if you exercise AND watch what you eat, you should be fine!
One IMPORTANT thing to remember though - don't loose weight too fast. A friend of mine also on WW lost weight so fast her body went into shock and she had a lot of medical problems as a result. Remember to pace yourself, don't try to loose more than a pound or two a week.
GOOD LUCK!

You should aim for a healthy weight loss pace of about 2 pounds per week. This number might be considerably higher during the first 2-3 weeks (or 8-10 pounds) or so. There are 2 golden rules:
1. Eat less
2. Exercise more.
Eating smaller portions of healthier foods is crucial. You do need to fuel your body for the exercise you will be doing so its important to make sure you dont starve yourself. Eat but eat smart. (no fast food) chicken, tuna, yogurt, veggies and fruit, and water. Lots of water. I would exercise for at least an hour each day. Walk/jog for 30 minutes and some kind of strength training (weight lifting) for 30 minutes. The walk/jog will shed pounds and the strength training will build lean muscle which burns more fat. You are not on a diet. You are changing your lifestyle. Tell yourself that every day. Good luck to you and way to go!

I'm no expert, but the 30 minutes on an exercise bike equates to probably 250 calories. About the same as an unhealthy snack. Not much.
What do you do at Curves? To lose a pound of weight you need to have approximately a 2500 to 3500 calorie defecit. That means that you need to burn 2500 or more calories than you eat.
My approach to a diet - again I am no expert - is to eliminate fast food and processed food from my diet. GONE! Like not even a bite! No drinks containing sugar! I drink plenty of Diet Coke, water and coffee though.
Next goes any kind of spread - mayo, butter, margerine.
I still eat a fair amount, but I try to plan ahead. I know that I get hungry at two points in the day. I eat a mid-morning snack and a mid-afternoon snack. I bring bagels and fat free cream cheese to work and some apples and carrots. The most important is the afternoon snack because that stops me over-eating at dinner time. It takes the edge off my hunger. This also keeps me away from the vending machines.
I like slim-fast shakes - perfect for lunch with a glass of water - although some left over spaghetti and tomato sauce is good too!
Evenings meals are always high in vegetables. I love chicken and cook it in many low-fat ways. Potatoes are great with some fat-free gravy on them - watch your salt intake though. Pasta is ok with the right sauce (in limited quantities)
I am currently dieting with a view to lose 35 pounds (215 to 180 - 5 foot 11). I am a little over a week into it and I'm down to 206. Nice!
I have been to the gym 4 times and run/walk for 40 minutes each time on the treadmill and a few laps in the pool. I have also done some stomach exercises to try and tighten my ugly stomach. About 6 hours invested in extra exercise so far.
I have a weight goal of losing 2 to 3 pounds a week from here on.
I've done it before (240 to 175 pounds) in 6 months. I was running 6 miles on the treadmill by the end - I was in good shape, but i let it slip a little over the last couple of years. Damn that fast food!
I weigh myself daily and keep a log. Don't be upset to see a small increase, but celebrate the loss!
NO REWARD FOOD! That is just a pointless waste of calories that you just worked so hard to burn.
The closest I get to a reward is a bar of Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate that i keep in the freezer. It's all broken up and I allow myself a square or two, then replace it in the freezer. DISCIPLINE!
GOOD LUCK!

firstly, take some water tablets, these will flush all the excess water out of your system. secondly, if your really serious about loosing weight, you should try the cambridge diet. It comprises of 2 milkshakes and 1 soup a day. Not the nicest of foods, but a friend of mine lost 8 pounds the first week and and 6 pounds in the second week. After the first 4 weeks, you are then allowed solid food. The first month would be hard, but it would be worth it if you really wanted to loose it. Good luck in whatever you do.

Losing weight is most successful if you think in terms of 1lb./week. That would mean 15 lbs. by May is a realistic goal.
I'm a guy.....and I know child birth is a whole other subject.......but I have had success with some weight loss.
I quit smoking three years ago -cold turkey - after 30 + years. It was the most important health choice of my life. However, smoking is, obviously, an oral habit. I gained 30 pounds in my first year as a non-smoker. I found three things that have helped me lose 20 of those pounds. I think they apply to everyone.
1) Regular exercise .....I started with walking a mile a day. Nothing too aerobic.....nothing too stressful. I walked along a gravel road in the woods near my home. I concentrated on deep breathing...and the beauty surrounding me. I celebrated my start of 'year #3' as a non-smoker by upping my daily walk to 3 miles. It takes about 50 minutes. The key word is daily.
2) I looked at my diet and made major healthy changes. I replaced a life-long Coca Cola habit with unsweetened tea w/fresh lemon. I replaced butter w/ Smart Balance. I replaced cooking oil w/ olive oil. I replaced muffins in the morning with Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal (high protein, high fiber..and delicious!) I replaced frying with baking. (I have not been a red -meat eater for 15 years...but I now eat baked skinless/boneless chicken breasts.) I eat alot of fruits & vegetables......but also eat fish and turkey. I replaced regular potato & corn chips with baked.
I have learned to love food instead of just consuming it. (And, as you probably know, taste buds recovering from smoking addictions have lots of fun!)
3) Water: I drink about a gallon a day. (Perhaps less since I replaced Coke w/unsweetened tea........but I drink water regularly.) It flushes toxins, energizes your cells and helps make you feel full. Water-toxicity has been in the news lately......but regular moderate consumption can do wonders for healthy weight loss, skin tone and energy levels. I do not drink alcohol.
My cholesterol numbers are down and my blood pressure numbers are improving. I sleep better, feel better and am healthier than I have been in decades.
I believe that slow weight loss can be permenant weight loss. It really is a matter of lifestyle and quality of life....more than just the number of pounds lost.
I admire mothers who can, somehow, tend to their children, their relationships and themselves.......all with focus & grace.
Good luck!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

be careful with lifting because of the fact in case you build lots of muscle you will finally end up gaining weight because of the fact muscle weighs extra suitable than fat. attempt to do a touch extra cardio. in case you are able to, cut back out the carbs, its been shown to artwork and while you're doing lots of cardio you would be burning lots of carbs and energy. For Breakfast have an Omelet. For lunch have a hen Cesar salad, for dinner have fish or an 8 ozsteak with blended vegetables. attempt to stretch it out in smaller parts and choose for 5 small nutrition an afternoon. it could get uninteresting yet once you narrow back the sugar and shrink carbs you will possibly be able to desire to have the skill to lose 30lbs by way of march.

Well, you should of course replace your carbonated beverages with water, and you should exercise at LEAST 30 minutes a day, everyday.
