I am taking medications for blood pressure,thyroid,and various other meds.for osteoarthritis pain.I have heard acidophilus is good for digestion and other problems.Is it okay to take it?

I am sorry that you suffer from osteoarthritis pain. It can be a terrible suffering.

Acidophillus is a safe, natural way to get "good bacteria" or "pro-biotics" in your system. There are very little drug interactions.

The only thing you may want to do is make sure that if you take antibiotics, to take them an hour before or after the acidohpillus, not together. You'd have WW III in your stomach (although you wouldn't feel sick or anything).

I take them everyday, and it gives you consistency, and protects against loose stools.

Yeah you can take it with those meds, but I would just double check with your doctor first. Taking acidophilus is just like eating yogurt with live cultures. Keeps all the good bacteria going!

In fact it is recommended if you've taken antibiotics as they kill the bad as well as the good flora and fauna in your digestive tract which acidophilus replaces.
