He will take your note as if you are having a crush on him.
Instead talk with him. Confront your feelings with him, that way he will know that you are not what he thinks of you.

How little does he think you are? I guess do a Britney Spears, like in her first video when she dressed in that uniform. Maybe you can use lyrics from that song will help.

Do you have friends in common? Let your friends try and hook you two up. Directly confronting someone is nerve racking in high school. Don't do the note thing.

well i did it twice...it made it look like i didn't have the guts
they see it as nervousness and fear of rejection and he said i should have sucked it up.
i think they take it more seriously when you tell them yourself.
and dont ever get your friend to give a note for you!
