Please excuse my ignorance. I know what they are but could someone explain why they are called "cookies" ? What is the significance of this term and its origin? Answers to a similar question just treated it as a cooking question - which it is not ! Thank you.

I know that it won't work with the Japanese ATMs, obviously, but can I still purchase stuff with it?

I'm not referring to a credit card, I'm talking about a check card with a Visa logo. In the states, I can use it like a credit card. Except, it automatically deducts money from my checking account.

My Mom Is always saying mean things about guys, she tells me that whenever I find a boyfriend, she Is going to feel sorry for me because he Is going to become abusive just like my father and she told me that all guys are abusive, she Is giving me the feeling to never fall In love and she Is wrong. my mom treats me bad, tries to live my life, I have to ask her for her permission to do everything, and I am 23 years old. I want to go to church too but I can't because of my Mom, she Isn't religious and she doesn't care about It, but I DO! I want God to know that I love him. my Mom Is wrong she should be thankful that God blesses her with more days to live but she Isn't thankful. I have no friends, my mom won't let me have any. Is this the way I am going to live year after year? I wish my Mom wasn't like this. I remember when I was about 5 years old. she even wished that I was dead. she Is a mean Mom and always yelling and swearing to me for no reason. please help me. she Is never happy 4me

well here's my problem I cant stop over thinking. I over think on everything even on the little things. It makes me worry about what other people think of me and I get depressed over it. I want to change and take control of my life. I just have no control and I look at this one website every day and it has a daily horoscope and is always predicts my day for me. the thing is that if it tells me I have a bad day, I turn into a pessmit. I get more stressed out and depressed. I just cant seem to control of my life for the last couple of months. I've been getting getting less sleep and starting to eat less and my grades starting to fall. I have a family who loves me and been goood to everyone around me. I believe in god and havent done anything like alchol, drugs or been on a date. can someone help

Back In October, I had Installed Windows Vista RC1 on my PC (before I bought my PCI graphics card) The install of RC1 ran fine, though after about 20 minutes after it was finished and comp. installed, the PC would freeze, and the screen would go black with color lines all over, and I would have to press the reset button on the PC to get it off, then start it up, and it would work for a while, but then it would happen again. Then I bought a new graphics card and installed vista RTM the other day and the install wouldnt continue after 'extracting files', it would just freeze. So i took out the new card and plugged my screen into the old integrated graph. card, and it did the same thing as it did in RC1, it would freeze, and with the new card, i couldnt even log on, it would just hang
any help?

after a week of marriage she showed me her real face.... she did many bad things to me... lie, rude, ... I gave her many chances and at the end I divorced her though she didn't want to..... My problem now I feel that she played with me and wasted my time and provocated the divorce .... at the court she brought a man with her and told me on the phone that he's her friend...... that hurted me too much and I cant forget that scene..... please what should I do?
