it depends about the day she/he winked to u,if u dont know them and they 've been lookin at u all the time,then smiled to u and then winked to u then it shows that person is intersted on u..but if u she/he just winked to u after u said somethin ,it could mean like oh u said somethin right..that's all

In some societies, a wink is just a wink, just a gesture of friendliness - people sometimes take it the wrong way and think they are hitting on them, which leads to confrontation. So not as many people wink unless they're attracted to someone. But you can still find the friendly wink these days.
I guess you would have to get to know the person in order to find out if they're attracted to you or not.

It means several things. I've heard that you can tell if someone is up to no good if they look at you and grin with a wink. It can be flirtatious, joking, camaraderie and a lot of things.

I've been wondering the same thing... my art teacher winked at me years ago in high school... and she was really hott... but she winked at me in front of another art teacher... and that was really weird...
