I have no idea--if men are a man they pay support with out complaining--I think they feel the mom is taking it for herself--not even realizing it goes towards food, clothes, water--etc...There are a few exceptions where woman live off child support--but most of woman in that situation are struggling so hard--trying to work or go to school, depending on family members to help, no money after the electricity/phone bills etc... plus doing all the household stuff themselves--lawn work , cleaning with no one there to give them a break.

Men only think about themselves--child support to them is taking away from them they have no idea what moms go through.

I had a conversation with my lover once about fathers who don't pay child support. I ended up agreeing with his stance on things. He says that since women have the choice to have the baby or not, which is true as we can always choose abortion, that men should have a choice too.
If a man and a woman are having sex without intent to reproduce (and that is agreed intent) and the condom breaks or the birth control fails, the man should be able to make it known right then or when she finds out she's pregnant that he does not want the child and wishes for the woman to get an abortion. If she has the kid anyways, he should not have to pay child support. He is not a dead beat father. She brought a fatherless child into this world and that was her choice.

Now, a dead beat dad is someone who had intentions of taking care of the child, but has since changed his mind.

Why are there so many dead beat dads? Because for some stupid reason men are not allowed to opt out of being a dad before the child is born and too many women are chasing men who never wanted their children to pay child support. This is wrong and those women are either greedy or stupid for having and keeping a child that they could not afford. As for the real type of dead beat dad, well they're just selfish and should be forced to fork up the money.

Unfortunately there is so much negativity between the parents of the child that many times both are seen by the other in a very negative light. The welfare of the child becomes secondary to both parents and the find ways to hurt each other. For the custodial parent it may mean limiting visitation or just making it hard on the other parent to spend time with the child. For the noncustodial parent it usually means the lack of paying child support. Sometimes the noncustodial parent does not feel like the money they give is being used solely for the child and they resent that fact also. I have been the custodial parent of my children for years and never once has their mother paid me any child support.

Deadbeats to me mean a parent either mum or dad trying to get out of the responsibility associated with the raising of a child. The money issue is a thing between the parents. Quite often the paying spouse or the one meant to pay feels that they are lining the pockets of their ex. What I think is a real dead beat is the ones who deprive their child of emotional needs meaning failure to have any sort of contact at all. Takes all sorts in the world and each case is individual and unique. You are asking this question a bit suggest you seek counselling re this grievance

Because this place is a microcosm of the real world. If there are deadbeats out in the real world trying to game the system, there will be some on here trying to do the same thing. There are a**holes everywhere.

Not everyone refusing to pay child support is a "deadbeat". Just as every woman who chooses to keep a baby is not necessarily a money grubbing whore.
